Dovida team are amazing - very easy to work with and a very caring team.

Bad management, impossible to get items for the house that are necessity to remain in home. Fees way to high and if you buy something from your package a large percentage is added to the cost. I will definitely be going elsewhere ASAP.

What does Dovida convey to me? Being confined to a wheelchair, it conveys to me 24/7 personal assistance, only a call away, it gives me the peace of mind and the confidence to live at home, on my own with freedom to make lifestyle choices on my timeline, knowing that all home services are only a phone call away. Therefore I can recommend Dovida in the highest regard, from the point of contact ladies to support office staff, to the field support staff. I can without a doubt confirm its the best move I've made to Dovida care package providers. A special mention to Tammie care support person who goes above and beyond her official duties to create a bond of good will where nothing is too much trouble for her. In this regard her ethical and professionalism shines through making her visit all the more enjoyable. Also a special mention to RN Wendy, like all the staff employed by Dovida, Wendy is a very confident, professional nurse, who easily puts patients at ease to carry out her procedures. She always communicates to the patient her time of arrival, which in my case alleviates the stress on my timeline. Home Instead Sunshine Coast and Gympie have provided excellent and suitable support as well as facilitating access to ramps, etc to care for my partner who has Parkinson’s Disease. They have taken into account not just standard home and medical care needs but also ensured support that is enabling him to continue to undertake tasks that he still wishes to take care of, but may find difficult to complete.

I have provided clinical nursing services for Home Instead Sunshine Coast and Gympie for the past four years. They are very caring, and always strive to provide the best possible services for their clients, helping them to stay at home for as long as they are safely able to do so. Home Instead makes an enormous difference in the lives of their predominantly elderly clients, assisting with things like personal care, domestic assistance and social support, giving them company and keeping them safe, and arranging clinical services such as nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and podiatry as needed. Their Care Consultants and Care Workers help to make people feel they matter, and at times become like surrogate family members, whilst always maintaining professional boundaries. Home Instead provided a professional and caring service from initial provision of carers through to end of life palliative care management. Have been with home instead for 17mths and they have been extremely helpful and supportive. Very happy we decided on them. My caregiver is a gem, kind and helpful and the house sparkles when she leaves. The mower man is reliable and does a thorough job. I cannot thank the team enough for the care and support that was provided to my elderly Aunt. I first made contact with Home Instead a year ago seeking support to help her remain living at home. The team were friendly and helpful and reassured me that they would be able to assist my Aunt. The process was made easy by such professional and knowledgeable staff who were able to assist us to link to Government funding. The girls that visited my Aunt were exceptional - so caring and treated my Aunt as though she was family. They brightened her days and allowed her to stay living at home a little longer. I would highly recommend Home Instead and the team at the Sunshine Coast office.

Staff not properly trained, nil communication from company apart from renewal signature time, staff leaving from shift early MULTIPLE TIMES but claiming to be paid for entire shift, staff leaving the house to go and have a smoke in a NON SMOKING household due to health issues which in turn left my family member alone unattended and they are on 24/7 observation and monitoring, staff constantly just not turning up, company constantly changing dates and times of services even though stated in intake interview that those particular dates and times are needed to get to other medical appointments which the company agreed they would be able to meet these requirements, unauthorised spending from homecare package, continence aids not being order when constantly asking them to be, coming home to find staff member had left 5 minutes into shift leaving my family member alone, unattended with no food or fluid intake for 4 hours!!! Have plenty more but I’m sure this is enough to make anyone run for the hills.

After posting my initial negative review, Home Instead reached out to me to investigate the issues my parents had with the company. The representative who contacted us was courteous and genuinely interested in resolving the problems. They addressed and explained the disputed charges, ultimately issuing refunds when needed. While there are still ongoing challenges related to grant application submissions, we are moving on. We were informed that measures are being implemented to prevent similar issues in the future. Ultimately, my parents decided to switch to a different provider that offers more control over their services. It was reassuring to have Home Instead follow up, though it would have been more beneficial if this attention had been provided when it was initially needed. I have used Home Instead since 2017. I have found them to be professional and they were able to supply me with carers who were well matched to my husbands high care needs and provided professional care, meeting the high standard I required. My husband really looked forward to the carers arriving each day; they are a wonderful group of people. They worked so hard to give him the best care possible each time they came. When we experienced a family emergency, Home Instead stepped up and provided me with the support that went over and above my expectations. I also found their office staff very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend.
