I’m not sure how to feel about this place — my old age home. I love it so much that part of me doesn’t even want to be here, which sounds crazy, I know. The staff are incredible, the meals are actually tasty, and the little routines — the morning tea, the walks in the garden, the laughter that bubbles up from nowhere — have somehow become the best part of my day. It’s like I’ve found a little world where everything makes sense and everything is gentle. And yet, there’s this part of me that thinks, “I shouldn’t enjoy it this much. Shouldn’t I be somewhere else, doing something else?” But honestly, every corner of this place whispers comfort. The books in the lounge, the familiar smells, the tiny acts of kindness — it’s addictive. So here I am, caught in a weird kind of love-hate with a place I can’t stop loving. I don’t want to leave, and I almost feel guilty about that. Maybe that’s the strangest thing: wanting freedom, but also wanting to stay in the safest, warmest bubble I’ve ever known.

Writing on behalf of my Auntie and Nonna as I am currently residing with my family. My Nonna gets carers twice weekly for personal care and cleaning. Both my Auntie and Nonna have been distressed and frustrated by the lack of communication and inconsistency with workers. My Nonna - who is 96 - has to get undressed infront of new staff every other week! It is stripping her of her dignity and makes it impossible to build trust and rapport with the care staff. All they have asked for is continuity and honesty. I would think twice about signing on with this company…

I engaged Home Instead three years ago for my father who was on a Home Care Package Level 3. The name changed to Dovida during this time but there was no change to the staff and excellent service my dad received. I cannot speak highly enough of my dad's Care Manager, Lois. Her knowledge and dedication to ensure my dad got the best care was to be commended. This extended to when my dad was in respite and in hospital. The carers that visited my dad were also lovely, were good at their job and communicated well. I liked how Dovida rostered the same carer to visit each week and at the same time.

All staff were extremely professional, caring and accomodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I can’t recommend Home Instead highly enough.

Many thanks for the excellent service provided over the years, with various caregivers, managers, and schedulers. My experience with everyone was on a highly professional level, done with empathy. My role in assisting Stephen would have been more difficult without the support of staff from Home Instead. Also, Stephen himself has enjoyed the companionship of his caregivers who provided conversations, music, trips to his beloved beach, and buying smoothies. I shared the joy in knowing about it all.

My wife Pamela Harris had home care by Homeinstead for almost four years. I enjoyed the flexibility of your service. Your management staff were outstanding. Alway adjusted Homecare to suit our needs and what suited Pam. Some Carers didn’t suit the role but every effort was made by management to match Pam with the right Carer. It was sad when Pam went into full time care

Since choosing Home Instead as my provider I have had complete satisfaction. I felt very comfortable with the lady who first assessed me for my personal needs and put a plan in place, my lovely efficient care Co Ordinator and the wonderful carer who has assisted me in so many different ways. I am ever so grateful for all their help to keep me in my home.
