After much research we chose Home Instead to be our provider of care for my 90 year old mother who has Alzheimer’s disease. Home Instead have been providing care for my mother for the last 2½ years and we have been very happy with both the carers and the staff at the office. Of particular help to us has been that we have maintained a core team of 4 carers over the entire time, who come every day for 3 hours. This has enabled my mother to bond with them, and for the carers to understand my mother’s particular needs and be responsive to them. The carers we have are compassionate, kind and capable. However I would recommend that you are proactive in selecting the right carer(s) that you are happy with and suit your needs by trial and error. You are the customer and you are allowed to request for a different carer if required.” I have not worked for the last 3½ years and have been the central carer for my mother. It is not easy looking after a person with Alzheimer’s disease. I tried for one year to do this by myself. It was too much – I was not coping. The carers from Home Instead have enabled me to get some structure and stability in my life.

My Mum's Monday CAREGiver is amazing, nothing was a problem for her. She dealt with everything with ease and was able to support my Mum really well. She was even able to support my mum in the shower with ease at times that I could not. She is Gem. I am extremely appreciative of all your support from the office and I cannot fault the amazing care you have all provided that enabled my Mum to stay with me as long as she had. I really appreciated that every CAREGiver brought something different and unique to the services.

I would like to thank Home Instead and the caregivers for their amazing support over the last 2 years, I really could not have done it without your help. Home Instead can hold its head high, I heard so many bad stories about care providers but that definitely was not my experience. Thank you for making Mum’s care easy. I could always go to work knowing she would be well looked after and that I did not need to worry about her. I often joked that mum would prefer to be with the caregivers than me!

My mother has been with Home Instead for 12 months and we have found the care and support excellent. She is very happy with the care she receives and looks forward to her visits. The carers are friendly and helpful, attending all her needs as required on each visit. The service keeps us informed and updated with any changes that may come up and all care is individually personalised
