I stopped into the Gold Coast location multiple times and was so impressed with the level of service! Yesenia and Jess had expert opinions and were able to style me into 3 pairs that I love. They made the entire process so easy!!!
I decided to come to this location since my preferred store in the Loop is now closed. I had THE MOST unpleasant experience with an optometrist I have ever had at this Gold Coast location. I admitted to her that I fell asleep in my contacts the night before (I figured there was no use in lying) and that she caught me at my worst because I usually wear my glasses. She proceeded to talk to me in an incredibly patronizing voice the whole appointment and seemed generally very annoyed with me. When I told her that we were going WAY too fast or that my vision was blurry, she blamed it on my "dry eyes." She told me to close my eyes then open them and wait for my eyes to "adjust" to whatever lens were currently were in front of my eyes. At one point I told her that I need to take a break and she said, "It's fine because this part is basically over anyway." Unsurprisingly, my new prescription for my glasses is completely wrong. Even weeks later my eyes can't focus, I have depth perception problems, and get strain headaches after a few hours. But I've gone back to wearing my old glasses without a problem. My vision is around -7.00, and I've been wearing glasses since grade school. I have NEVER encountered this problem my glasses before. I tried rebooking appointments to have my prescription double-checked, but my experience was so unpleasant that I do not even want to try again with this optometrist because I feel I would just be chastised and dismissed by her again. I'm opting to schedule at the West Loop location (at my own expense) in hopes that the optometrist there will be a more compassionate and professional provider.
I do not recommend having an eye exam at this location. I took my girlfriend for an eye exam and get new glassed. The person (was he even qualified?) who conducted the exam didn't care enough to check her far and near sight and the glasses she got are only good for TV, and she can't read with them. It was a complete waste of time and money. Go to a proper doctor and get your prescription glasses there, not both. We are extremely disappointed and will not visit this location again, and never have their personnel conduct an eye exam.
An easy experience. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable. I showed up early for an eye exam and had to hang around for a bit. I conversed with and observed the staff and I walked away later genuinely liking them. The optometrist, too, is professional, efficient, and pleasant. The prices are super affordable and clearly marked and/or communicated with no surprises. This is my second time purchasing glasses from here. There is a reason I came back this time and more of a reason I will come back the next.
When I got my eyes with this store the initial contact was fine. I explained to my service person I would be having surgery. The rep explained when I got my new prescription it would be FREE if I kept my same frames if I returned within a year. When I returned 11 months later they refused to honor their commitment.
