I love the environment of TTP. Trainer Wayne is super helpful and respectful to his clients. Everyday I come to learn and grow, and TTP is the place to do that!
If you want to get serious about your health spend serious money. The pain and gain from your workout will never hurt as much as the thought, “ I wasted how much money”, if you blow it off. Lost 50 pounds and 7” from waist since March of this year. No wild promises when I started but merely a path and diet modification ideas. Painless also, if you just commit an hour to YOURSELF, for a change, and reflect while at the grocery store, if you don’t buy it you won’t eat it.
Working with Wayne has changed my life in so many different way. His holistic approach training (including the mind and body) paired with his kindness has led to a transformative experience. I had zero fitness background when I started with him 6 months ago. Since then I’ve become stronger mentally and physically and down 20 pounds and counting!! I’m grateful I took the step to work with him and I’m sure you will feel the same way too.
I was looking for someone who could meet me where I am currently. Coming off an injury and being the heaviest I've been in a while, I found myself feeling intimidated in larger gym settings. The small setting allowed me to feel comfortable. One thing I appreciated was foundations class. It allowed me to ease into training and helped him understand my individual needs. Wayne is a true professional and is extremely knowledgeable. I'm happy that google lead me to TTP.
I’ve been a member of Train to Perform for the past three months, and I am constantly amazed at how Wayne has transformed my life. I was a little hesitant about joining at first because I was in the worst physical condition I had ever been in post-pandemic. I’d heard good things about Wayne, so I tried it. Wayne is well-informed and genuinely cares about his clients. He really takes the time to explain and demonstrate the exercises. He ensures his clients are fully conditioned before moving on to other, more advanced classes. Train to Perform is unlike any other gym I’ve experienced. The members are diverse in age, background, and athletic ability. There is a real sense of community; you sense that from day one. I am genuinely grateful that I found such a fantastic gym AND trainer.
Having never been athletic or an “exercise person” before, I was nervous about working with a trainer and taking strength training classes. I didn’t even know how to use most of the equipment at gyms (other than the treadmill). But Wayne and Train to Perform have been amazing, and I now enjoy and look forward to exercising! My strength, balance, and flexibility have all noticeably improved in a few months. Wayne is a wonderful teacher - he explains clearly, looks out for everyone’s safety, tailors each session to each individual, and is encouraging, energetic, and just fun to work with. The other students I have met have been kind and supportive; there’s no judging or criticizing of what kind of shape anyone’s in, what they look like, how much they can lift, etc. Wayne’s studio/gym is also meticulously clean, which I really appreciate. If you want to get in shape, or you are already in shape and want to learn proper techniques so you get the most from workouts and avoid injury, I highly recommend Wayne and Train to Perform. Don’t be intimidated and don’t think that a trainer or training classes are a waste of money - think of them as an important investment in your health.
When I started looking for a gym in St. Louis, I knew I wanted a trainer I could trust to understand my abilities (and limitations), hold me accountable to my goals, and work with me on a long-term plan to be healthier and more fit. Wayne has checked all those boxes, and small group training has been an extra boost of accountability. Strength training, boxing, and stick mobility are such a perfect combination of activities—they're each challenging in their own ways and contribute different things to your overall fitness goals. I have been with Train to Perform for 18 months and I'm not only healthier, but I'm more empowered and in control of my health than I've ever been. I truly believe Wayne can train anyone, and the TTP community is evidence of that. Any age, any ability, any gender, any level of experience—this is the most diverse boutique gym I've ever seen. Wayne is an expert at making adjustments as needed and learning just how much you need to be pushed to reach your goals. If you've been looking for a place to start (or re-start) your fitness journey, this is it.
Wayne has built an incredible community at Train to Perform. I’ve been a part of many gyms/studios/worked with a range of trainers and never before have I received such instructive and personalized training to support me in achieving my goals, all while being surrounded by an incredible group of people. Wayne is deeply passionate about what he does and he goes above and beyond to make each class equally challenging and enjoyable, while providing insight and instruction throughout to ensure we’re not only using the correct technique but also understand the why behind it. I highly recommend Train to Perform to all, regardless of where you are on your fitness journey!
