The gym itself is very nice and the equipment is mostly what I wanted. The only issue with equipment was I would prefer to use the calibrated plates as I compete in powerlifting, but bc I am not currently in prep I wasn’t allowed to, but I am fine with the metal lb plates. The staff was very welcoming but some of the other lifters were quite rude. If you are visiting the area or this is your first time at this gym be weary of some of the members. If you see a bearded man deadlifting a quarter of his body weight, watch out as he has anger issues and thinks he is the most important person in the room. This threw off my whole session and I will no longer be coming back or recommending this gym to anyone. Edit: After getting into contact with the management department at the gym, they agreed that this members behavior was not tolerated and is not a representation of the gym as a whole. Changed stars from 2 to 4.

The Iron Asylum Gym - Castleton

Hands down the best gym in VB and Norfolk. Real training, real athletes, real lifting. This is not a "fitness center or health club". Plus open 24 hours for members! Yes I'm the owner.
I accidentally made it 4. I found out how to fix it. All around great gyms. Always clean and helpful if asked. Great environment especially if you have a phobia or fear of going. Great place.
I've been a member of Iron Asylum for almost 5 years now. For me there is no better gym in VB! 24hr access for members is a huge for me and I really enjoy that. The gym is very clean and always has the best equipment in the area. I truly could not recommend a better gym to train at. And I just have to say the staff is great! Anytime I have ever needed anything they were always there to help, answer question and encourage me along my fitness journey. 5 out of 5 without question!
When I started there everyone was so nice and welcoming to having someone new in the gym
