The Honeypot Jamaican Takeaway

I have ordered from here before and it was great. However, this visit was pretty dismal. Hence 1 star for Service! Went straight from work, to order dinner. The young lady behind the counter (glasses, all black clothing, hair in low bun) clearly has no idea of customer service nor politeness. She left me waiting to take my order for between approximately 5- 10mins as she stood gazing out the window. In the end I had to ask if she was serving , as it became clear she was not going to ask if she could help me. I gave me my order request, to which she said "we have no fried dumplings". I replied: "Are you making any more?" Her reply with a shrug "I don't know!" So I asked if she could ask please? She begrudgingly walked slowly to the kitchen passing an eye rolling look to the other customer who was waiting for his order, clearly as if to say "oh my gosh, I just told you we have no fried dumplings, what is your problem". She retuned and told me "They (not they're) not making any more" I simply said: "Ok I'll leave it Thanks, as that was the side I really wanted". The young lady's counter customer service was absolutely dismal, rude with a bad attitude. So they have lost my custom. Really.......??!! Honeypot - Fried dumpling is a side, they have sold out and won't be making any more!!! That's like a chip shop selling out of chips and telling customers the rest of the evening there won't be anymore chips to go with your fish, pie or kebab!!!!!!! There is another young lady that works behind the counter and she is lovely, very polite, and attentive to customers, she was busy in the kitchen.

Okay so the food is delicious and I daresay the best Caribbean food I've tasted in Birmingham so far. Minor issues like the long delivery time but overall a happy customer and already recommended to friends and family :)

I really have to commend this establishment. Every dish ordered has been to a high standard and full of flavour. The service is outstanding and pleasant, which is so refreshing. Special mention for the saltfish fritter, I avoid these when eating out as they lack in standard… just wow!! Not one trace of oil, the paper bag it arrived in was dry. Great balance of spice and saltfish. We are all fussy as we are excellent cooks, my household usually moan when eating out as it’s not like Mamas. Big big credit to The Honeypot team. Highly recommend to everyone Thank you lovely ladies xx

Ordered on Uber eats, received a phone call in relation to the note on my order straight away 🙌🏽 We know ordering a Yard can be long but this was the fastest delivery I’ve ever had from any takeaway.😳 After a long day at work this hit the spot!! 💯🇯🇲👊🏽 Big shout out to the staff and the lovely lady who got my order exact. Talk about flavours 🔥

His place ha really quickly become my go-to spot for yard food. It's run by a couple who are way friendlier than they should be, when you consider how hard they work. Their level of customer attentiveness is really refreshing - putting in the extra effort to communicate with customers a d always make me feel at home. All heir types of chicken are amazing, but the Barbi Fried Chicken is second to none. And that sexy juice... lawd gad its got the best aftertaste!!! I haven't tried everything on the menu... yet... but it won't be long!!!
