The Baker's Wife Bistro & Bar

The restaurant is beautiful inside, unfortunately we were seated right by the kitchen and had an issue with fruit flies around out table. The scallops were suoer pricey at 40 bucks for 6 scallops. The drinks we had were ok but we were really looking for up scale beautiful tasty cocktails. The dessert (bread pudding) was the highlight of the meal. The lavender whipped cream and honey ice cream accompanied it nicely.

Very unimpressive!!! The Chef is there only for herself! Anything the customer wants is unwelcomed and will not be done. They will not change anything on the menu ( no substitute at all) and if you don't like it you will pay for it anyway because it's clearly stated on the menu that they will not remove anything from your check that you order. The menu is limited and they ran out of anything that was closely desired to be ordered. Don't waste your time or money with this place, you are better off at a major chain restaurant.

The place is beautiful however the manager was cold, unwelcoming and borderline rude. The wait staff was amazing. The food was so so. I ordered scallops over risotto. The scallops were delicious but the risotto...not so much. I enjoyed the company with my friends but I will not return to this restaurant.

You know, this is one of those places where we have been wanting to go for a long time. However, every time we called they told us the place was packed and making a reservation online cost $40.00. So when we visited, we paid to ensure a reservation. We got there and the first thing the manager asked was "do you have a reservation". He was cold and unwelcoming, no smile or friendly greeting. We asked for a window table and he asked, "did you reserve one?" No, "let me see if we can accommodate" or other similar positive and friendly suggestion. Tip: Regardless of what you do at any restaurant, always be warm and welcoming. Remember that customers aren't obligated to visit your establishment so making everyone feel welcome should be a priority. We sat at the bar and waited for the rest of our party to arrive, noticing half the restaurant was empty... yes, empty. Plenty of room for another fifty people. I don't know, maybe they close half the restaurant on Saturday nights 🤔? We never asked. The bar was out of regularly stocked items. The bartender was serious, and fast. No time for friendly talk, a warm comment or quick smile. The server was the highlight of our evening. She was funny, welcoming and engaging. She took the time to explain the menu, colorfully describing each dish, its ingredients and expected taste(s). She offered advice that was accompanied with humor, making our time while eating an enjoyable one. The food was good but not out of this world. In fact, at the bar a few customers highly suggested against ordering a couple of the seafood dinner options with comments like, "its not worth the price". Our food was fine but again nothing was amazing or memorable. We may return for their brunch to see if this is where their strengths lie.

We have visited thr Bakers wife now 2 times and they never cease to amaze. They are AMAZING!!!! My husband is a major foodie meaning we have eaten at many different restaurants. Including Michelin star ones. And this is definitely on the top. Not only is the food phenomenal and changes per season, but the wait staff has always been wonderful. The chef is very talented and you can tell they love what they do. I will always recommend this place to anyone
