This was my fourth stay at Sunnyview in7 years I’ve had a left hip replacement and two back operations. I also have had Multiple Sclerosis for 25 yrs., so my recovery from each required acute rehabilitation. Sunnyview is the very best acute rehab in the upstate NY area, I would never even consider any other place. The PT and OT staff along with the 24 hour nursing staff are knowledgeable, empathetic, and bend over backwards to make sure your needs are taken care of!❤️ Their food is great too. They have a regular weekly menu and an alternative menu, it’s very good!

Top shelf knowledgeable professionals (at all levels) who consistently demonstrated compassion and kindness throughout my month long stay from a motorcycle accident. The level of support for my journey to heal was beyond "5 Star" status! Words can not even come close to express my GRATITUDE to all the individuals who helped my healing both physically and emotionally!

Have been at Sunnyview Rehab since August 2021 for both OT and PT after a race car accident left me very severely burned. Have made great progress with PT on my shoulder with the guidance of Dylan and Robbie. Was able to "graduate" from PT last week and frankly didn't expect that I would ever gain the mobility back that I lost in the accident and the subsequent 4 month hospital stay, let alone gain it back in 9 months! The staff at Sunnyview have become like family to me and I'll always be grateful for all they've done for me.

I was recently transferred to Sunnyview Rehab Hospital after Cervical Spine Surgery. I was there for 3 weeks and I received excellent care from all the staff. I highly recommend this facility😊 I have recently finished my PT outpatient rehabilitation at Sunnyview. This was my second rehab as I have now had my second spine surgery. As was the case with my first visit I received professional therapy from my primary therapist Nancy, as well as the others who treated me. The therapy enabled me to regain my strength and My physical ability is significantly improved. Any of the staff that I interacted with were friendly and helpful.

6 years ago my dad came to Sunnyview after a stroke. We had a great experience. So when he again needed rehab recently, we pushed to come to Sunnyview. This time, a terrible experience. The therapists themselves were good, but the communication with the family was pretty much non-existent. Now that family members can only be on-site for 1 hour every other day, we are relying on Sunnyview to reach out to us with information that we might have previously gotten by just being present a lot. I can understand that the Covid restrictions are necessary, but it has been 5 months, so by now Sunnyview should have come up with procedures to ensure that families are getting good information about the patients. My dad is 88 and Sunnyview acknowledged the cognitive deficits, and yet, they really made very little effort to involve us in the process. When we finally got aggressive about it, things improved a little, but the discharge process was perfunctory, and we've been pretty much left on our own to figure out how to establish 24/7 care. We really do feel he was essentially left at the curb, with a pleasant "good luck" expressed to all of us. When we've described our experience to others, they have confirmed that our communication experience is pretty typical. As I said, I think the actual therapists are good, but understand that if you want to talk to anyone, you'll need to initiate everything - they don't seem to feel that that is part of their job.
