this is hands down the best hair salon I’ve ever visited - the ambience was warm, welcoming and extremely fun! Paulo did the most amazing job with my hair, especially since the transition was such a drastic one from long to very, very short but he did it justice in the best way possible and I’m in love with my new haircut!! 10/10 would recommend, and will be frequenting this place from now on 🫶

This is the best hair salon I've ever been to! All the staff I met were extremely kind and helpful, and easy to talk to. It was a safe space and I felt very comfortable spending many hours there whilst getting my hair done. Stevie was great, he taught me about hair care and gave wonderful suggestions for how to translate my hair ideas into reality. Paulo was absolutely wonderful with the haircut and nailed what I needed to freshen up my look. I'm extremely happy with everything, and plan to return in the future :)

I’ve been enjoying this salon since moving here from London. John is a perfectionist (I mean that in the best way possible John!😜) Every other staff member is so friendly and helpful too. I always leave feeling extremely satisfied. Will keep coming here for as long as I live in Sydney.

I have been going to Stevie English for the better part of 5 years (even flying in to Sydney especially to get my hair done there.) The staff of the venue are absolutely fantastic. Each time I come in I’m met with a positive, inclusive atmosphere, where I feel safe and comfortable to express my wants and needs. The quality of the hairdressing is second to none. Not once have I walked out without feeling satisfied. Whether I go in with a specific view, or quite simply say “What do you recommend?” I am always happy with the result. John is my regular hair dresser and he never fails to amaze me and I wouldn’t trust any other salon to touch my hair. Could not recommend the salon more

Without a doubt the worst hair cut I have ever paid for! Did not listen to a thing I asked for and it was the most I ever paid for any salon visit! And I don't consider $400 a lot but this was $530 for a nightmare! When I evwntually approached the owner they told me I waited to long for them to do anything! It's taken me 3 months to build the strength to write this review and I've never given anyone 1 star before! Utterly disgusted and don't know how I will ever trust a salon again 😞🤕

I visited three or four times but in the end it wasn't worth the stress of being charged on average $100 or more at the counter than what had been quoted. It seems this is common practice among queer friendly hip-seeming salons. It's not fair on people who might be getting a special haircut with a voucher or similar that genuinely can't afford the sneaky price hike. The prices are seriously prohibitive and I've since found you can get similar results down the road for genuinely half the price.

The team at Stevie English Hair were lovely, considerate and understanding. In particular, Ella was incredibly flexible, communicative and accomodating, adapting her process to ensure my sensory needs were met where possible, resulting in some of the most stress-free haircuts I’ve ever experienced. Ella really took in how my sensory needs interfaced with aesthetics to ensure I came away with a haircut that looked exactly like I'd envisioned while meeting those needs. I’ve frequently had hairdressers impose their interpretation of my request onto my head midway through a cut due to restrictive conceptions of gender, but Ella truly listened to what I wanted and why, asked clarifying questions and talked me through any adaptions and suggestions before the haircut started based entirely on what would be possible for my hair in an easy and unobtrusive process that felt like a friendly chat. This resulted in a haircut that felt and looked so good I went home and took multiple photos of the right side of my face (which had never before seen the light of the front-facing camera). Through her compassionate manner, Ella created a space I felt comfortable to return to for future haircuts, asking for modifications that would better suit me after living in the cut for a few months - even though she cut it to ensure my hair looked good while growing out as far as possible so I wouldn’t have to visit too frequently (the ultimate accomodation for someone who usually truly hates getting their hair cut). She’s a hair expert but enables you to be the expert of your hair, using her expertise and skill to inform you and give you a haircut that feels amazing, is affirming and meets your needs. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and finally, after 25 years and some shocking cuts, have a hairstyle that feels like me. Thank you to Ella and the team at Stevie English Hair!

Really disappointing hair colour & cut this week. I had my foils & cut done here a couple of months ago which i was happy with. I went back for the same service, got 3/4 head of foils and explained I wanted lots more blonde. After 3 different attempts across 2 days (6 hours of my time)with Franks with different toners etc, my hair was left brown! I could not ( and did not want to ) come back a third day for a 4th attempt. The owner did acknowledge that my hair wasn't right, apologised and gave me a refund. Hair cut was never finished after the blowdry (mainly because i was focusing on the awful colour job). I just spent 4 hours today at Wild Life hair in Surrey Hills who carried out a fantastic repair job on my cut & Colour. The staff at Stevie English are nice people but i wont be back.

I cannot recommend the team at Stevie English enough!! I’ve been coming here every 7 weeks religiously for over 8 years, and just rock up with some inspiration and never leave disappointed! My hair always looks and feels freaking amazing, I get stopped in the street by strangers complimenting my hair every few days and to top it off, it’s very reasonably priced. A bunch of absolute hair GODDESSES! Do yourself a favour and go and see them, I promise you will thank me!

The staff was so lovely and accomodating . I had Franks cutting and styling my hair and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Franks asked questions to make sure I got exactly what I was after and it was perfect. Really good price for the service they’re providing, will definitely go back

Sadie is sensational, Mel is marvellous, the Team is tremendous and Stevie, well... Stevie is super. Stevie English Hair is everything you want from a hairdresser.

Jazmine does a really great job of my hair. This is the first time that a hairdresser has asked exactly what I want and how I want my hair to look and then does just that. I would think that all the team take the same approach, so I can highly recommend Stevie English.

Stevie English has been my go to for a few years now, as a blonde I'm always more than happy with my results. I've needed a small fix once, and was accommodated with a drama free experience and booked within 2 days of my request. Cannot recommend them enough, great team, service and consistently fantastic results. Thank you!
