Don’t order the tacos if you’re hungry — People talk about the large portions here but I just wanted to call out the ‘tacos’. They were so small that each one was a bite and a half. I had to order more food later. Tasty but tiny. Not worth $20.

Great atmosphere. — We sat out in the beer garden for a drink and a small bite to eat. There is quite a few tables but it can fill up quickly on a weekend. This place has a lively atmosphere with a basketball court to burn some energy. The downside is the substantial smoking area which means those tables next to are not to consume food.
Allegra 10/10 service — Server Allegra was amazing. She sorted a small problem and her customer service was top teir. I highly recommend this place!!!!
disgusting security — they kicked us out for no reason, the security were super pushy and it was disgusting. we were in there for 5minutes, first place we went too and demanded we need to leave saying they will give us a reason when we get outside when we went outside they never gave us a reason. super disappointing!!!
Fantastic! — I received friendly & attentive service from the staff. However, I placed a coaster on top of my drink, indicating that I hadn't finished with it, when I used the facilities. After returning to the table, the drink had gone. However, a bar staff member replaced my drink free of charge. Some staff need to be educated about the meaning of a coaster on top of the drink. It's my local & I am, generally, happy with the friendly, attentive service.
Large pub with plenty of room — Dropped in with friends, heaps of room! Inside and a huge area out the back, there is even a basketball ring! Band inside, DJ outside; pizza bar and other pub food options.
Great atmosphere, food and staff — Dog friendly means there are literally dozens of dogs inside and out. Front bar is fairly standard inner West atmosphere, out back, the deck and laneway are fun. Dress down, chill out and bring your pooch. 🐶🐶🐶
Lunch — Nachos not enough beans or sauce...but edible..chips were slightly oily...Beef pie was delicious with mash root veg not enough veg..$20 most dishes bit steep...drinks cool.cheap...dog freindly..courtyard fabulous shaded by tree lights..
Yummy food — My friend and I decided to have a naughty lunch. The falafel scotch egg made me wanting more worth he hummus and spicy tomato sauce. The onion rings and the wings were perfectly crisp with yummy sauces. We will be back!
The beer selection is letting the place down. — The Vic on the Park has been a popular spot with locals for years. There’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating, it’s dog friendly, they have live music on Friday and Saturdays, and there’s weekday after work specials (pints for $6 as of Feb 2019). The main detractor is the poor line up of beers - sadly since Merivale bought the venue they’ve replaced the taps with their standard line up. At the least they need a few guest taps to mix it up a little.
Loud atmosphere — Came here for lunch, it’s quite pricey given what you are having. Had a steak, salt and pepper calamari and souvlaki plate and 2 drinks. Ended up well over $100. Cocktails are $18 and the margarita wasn’t made very well. Dog friendly and it was very busy and loud on a Sunday afternoon.
Fun... — Merivale staff at their other pubs can lean more towards being ‘team player’ robots than human pub-people but here every staff member we encountered seemed to have the right balance of being sincerely personable & professional in their service delivery. The Happy Hour is from 5pm to 7pm, Mon to Fri, the discounts are impressive & encompass a wide range of drinks. Our Friday night here got a bit busy as the night progressed & they could have done with some more staff rostered on at each bar to avoid the RSL-like lines that then developed, but January in Sydney can be quiet for pubs & thus harder for management to staff accordingly. The food on the whole is not expensive & was served in a timely fashion despite the bistro being busy. My pork bangers were surprisingly of the quality you might find in Germany, though the mash & gravy were a bit watery. A friend’s steak was a good piece of meat, but came out pretty pink when she had ordered it well done. Other friends had the beetroot tart & the chicken schnitzel & they were impressed. The pub has 3 main sections including an outdoor deck & ball games area, the aircon was cold & appreciated inside on a hot summer night & the dog friendly aspect adds a nice locals touch to the whole vibe. We had fun & were treated politely & professionally by all staff. Check this pub out.
Do not go here to watch sport — Came here to watch the rugby World Cup final, half the screens had no sound. No atmosphere, spoke to the manager who said he couldn’t help, wouldn’t advise going here to watch sport, what a let down as I’d heard such good things
Dog friendly and great atmosphere — This is one of my fav dog friendly venues in Sydney especially for a public holiday. Everyone congregates in the car park and shoots hoops. Super fun atmosphere. I never normally eat here, just drink. One time we had a show at the nearby factory theatre so came here for a good old pub feed. The food was very mediocre, I had the barramundi and it tasted dirty. The nachos was good though. So skip the food and just drink!
Decent pub, Dogs allowed — Down to earth, decent pub. Good bistro for food and happy hour. Dogs allowed inside "on a lead and with their human". Useful meeting point of you're going to the Factory Theatre comedy/fringe venue as it's less than 4 min walk.
Good vibes but don't get the eggplant parma — This place has a nice, grungy, Marrickvilley vibe, staff are friendly. My sports team comes here after games. I've had a few 'meh' vego meals which means I don't always go, but went on Wednesday and was excited to see they've got eggplant parmas on the menu now. But it was awful, totally rubbery and undercooked. I took it back (have not taken a meal back anywhere in years) and they very nicely made me another one but it was the same. Obviously just how they do it there. Some of my friends tried it and thought it was terrible. Eggplant really needs to be well cooked so it's all soft and delicious. And $23 is a lot of spend on something inedible. My partner had the mushroom burger and said it was good, and the chips were great, so just steer clear of the eggplant!
Fabulous — Great pub , vibrant atmosphere always busy, food is really good not to over priced highly recommended.
Saturday night — Noisy place with a live band on. A little quieter at the back or out in the smoking area but still pretty loud. Majority of clientele seemed to be in their twenties, so I felt a bit old. Well staffed, plenty of security on the doors and inside. Service at the bar was quick. First time there and somewhere I’d visit again.
Not Safe — I was at the Vic on the park tonight when my hair was grabbed be some young lad who though our female friend was hitting In is girlfriend. When I reported this to the bouncer our friend was taken outside and not allowed back in. They allowed the perpetrator back into the pub and only took my assault concerns seriously when I asked them to look at security. They then took him outside near our female friend and he hit and assisted her. The police came and took the man away but this would all have been avoided if they had followed up my concerns in the first place. Not a safe pub. Management laugh at you when you raise concerns
Vic-torious — The Vic is close to our home, so we go there regularly, as we can take the dog and/or the kid. Good burgers and an outdoor BBQ menu make this a very special pub meal. Lots of drinks and energy in the courtyard and even a few hoops if you feel inclined.
