Atmosphere plus — Dinner at Ucello's was good. I have been over 25 times and did not think it was up to its usual standard, but the food and atmosphere was still excellent. Took it very slow which was great as we just soaked in the atmosphere.

Lovely uncrowded restaurant — Lovely uncrowded restaurant. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Oddly had to go outside to some unsavoury toilets.
Very loud — As the restaurant is on the 4th floor of a hotel overlooking the pool and if you like dinner In a discotheque it is good Otherwise it is not the quiet place The dishes were good and well made The price is quite expensive but Sydney is an expensive city in general
Not great at all — I decided to try the prawn ravioli, only to find it served cold with prawns that had an unpleasant odor. The meal lacked the distinctive touch of a small, independent establishment, feeling instead like it had come from a mass production line. After this second disappointing experience at a Merivale venue, I won't be returning.
Fantastic meal — Hard to find restaurant, and in an unorthodox setting (for the Sydney CBD), next to a pool. Lovely modern Italian cuisine, helpful and thoughtful staff. High-end pricing, but delicious.
Very poor experience with a cancellation fee — Very disappointed...I was looking forward to this but had to cancel my reservation early in the day as a member of our party fell ill...and I was charged a $200 cancellation fee! It seems that if you don’t cancel with at least 48 hours notice (which is unrealistic) they charge you. I will not try for another reservation and I will not recommend this restaurant if that is how they treat people!
Fine dining with the price to match — This was a lovely Italian with fabulous food, if quite expensive. Service was excellent. We had osso buco pasta and nz snapper as mains and they were wonderful.
Finding ourselves in Sydney we looked for best places to eat and found Ucello . We went for a late lunch and were seated right away . The decor was modern and cool . It was fun because at that time it also seemed to be a spot for buisness lunch's . Sharing allowed us to taste a variety of foods , one better then the next . Part of the fun of travel to me is exploring new flavors and sharing food ! I suggest doing that here !
Good service and food — The staff are very attentive, the food was very nice but I’ve have had better for the price. They didn’t have a time limit on us for the night we were there so it was nice to enjoy dinner without worrying about how long we had before they moved us on.
Very good service and Food — Our booking at this restaurant was not intentional, We were booking for Felix but unwittingly got diverted onto Uccello. Nevertheless, we gave it a try. SERVICE: The waitress gave excellent service throughout the dinner. She was friendly and helpful, and complimentary. Even the restaurant manager came by twice. So I give them a solid 5/5 for service. FOOD: We ate a range of dishes. Deep-fried Zuccini flowers were spot-on delicious 😋, but the spanner crab buns were small and uninspiring 😒. The steak was perfect 👍 and my wife Gnudi was also excellent. We finished with delicious mango Creme brulee with Madeline's. I would give 4.5/5 for food ATMOSPHERE: We were seated in the restaurant area that looks out onto the pool area. The restaurant was a little on the quiet side when we arrived but as the evening progressed the pool areas starts to buzz with many young starlets and edgy dudes in suits, it was quite entertaining to watch. The one drawback that really grated on me was the compulsory $100 non-refundable surcharge per head. So if you only have an entree, you will still pay $100. I feel they must be losing customers to this as it wasn't a full house. $60 would be adequate and certainly less presumptuous. As it was, we spent our $200 as the food leaned a bit on the expensive side, and that is why I gave a 4 not a 5. Having said that, I would go back again and I would recommend it to others.
Very average food — Very ordinary food and extremely over priced for what you get I would not rate any of the dishes we got This restaurant is next to Ivy pool bar, so if you want a place to be seen , this is for you. If you appreciate good food , go somewhere else.
Reassess your left over COVID Backpacker rejects — I called amd made my booking was happy to pay for a group of 8. $100 per person. Called back 5 mins later and changed it to 5. Charged $800 for 8 ppl. Average staff and service all night! Staff spilt beer on my guests, failed to top up wine water, begged to be served! All seamed to hard. The experience just is no where near the service we have had in the past.
Good food and great service — Good food and great service at Uccello. Came here once it reopened. Food was yummy - and big wine list - but pretty pricey. Service was impeccable, however this is certainly not a cheap night out!
Flavoursome — Had looked forward to trying to this place recommended by a friend and was not disappointed, from delicious cocktails to begin with to tasty entrees vyes we tried them all fresh burrata, octopus, Ceviche and prosciutto. Mains we had the chicken trout pasta and slow roasted lamb, all done very well. Finished off with Lovely dessert too.. highly recommend
Disappointing Group Lunch — 12 of us went for lunch. Provided menu from which we selected main course & sweets while entrees & selected Vegas provided to the group. The papperdella beef shin was very disappointing. Very little meat & pasta was too thick & not cooked enough. Sharing the chicken agreed with partner chicken was off: it just didn’t taste right. It wasn’t dry, it wasn’t tough — just did not taste right. We both had 2-3 bites & gave it away. Sad experience for a place that seems to be jumpy well. Also, seems bit ironic that the main menu & one given to us as a 12 group did not have one pizza offering with the large wood fired pizza in sight!
We came here two Friday’s — We came here two Friday’s in a row with 50% off food. We loved it for its vibiness and great food and who does not like a good discount. Considering food from both times the Burrata was probably my favourite. We had the bistecca as a main the first time and pastas the second time. All was great and so were the other starters we tried. However the setting made part of the experience and without the 50% off food I am not sure I would say it’s great value for money.
Expensive, but not worth it — Surprisingly, we were directed here from another restaurant. We didn't have a booking on a very busy Friday evening, but were warmly welcomed and given a great booth near the pool. While the staff were very helpful and accomodating, sadly, the food wasn't that good. We had a problem with our orders, and while it was rectified quite efficiently and without fuss, it was disappointing. Generally, we found there was far too much salt in everything; the calamari, the fish, the veal, even the sides, all far too salty. The dishes were also rather small, particularly given the price point of $45 + for a main, which required sides. We stupidly ordered 250ml of wine, thinking that it would be two glasses, but it all comes in one HUGE glass. Not really elegant or our 'thing'. We also thought the noise level was ridiculous, with people near the bar in big groups and nearby tables shouting to be heard above the thunderous thumping of the music. The music was definitely not convivial to dining. There are some really lovely aspects to this restaurant, but for the price point its offerings fall well short.
very cool hang out....beautiful food, incredible wine list. — Uccello is a great place for a date or to impress a business partner for lunch. The food is always fantastic and the wine list is something to behold. There is a selection of wines that you will rarely see, never mind have the pleasure of partnering your choice of very well balanced and technically spot on food flavors. If you want to party after your meals the Pool bar is the place for a few drinks and great tracks from a long list of DJ's. You can do what we did and hire a pool side Cabana which will give you reserved seating and a drinks package to kick on hard with chosen ones well into the night.
All round great! — Wonderful flavours, attentive service, great wine list, nice atmosphere. Really enjoyable and tasty! Recommended.
Delicious Italian — We came for an early dinner on a Friday night, before the theatre. There were a few diners in the restaurant and a rather large party enjoying the last of a long lunch on the small outdoor terrace. Being a Friday night and happy hour, the bar scene at the pool was in full swing and yes, it was noisy. We didn’t mind it at all - it was lively and visually quite spectacular to look over the pool and bar, as the sun was setting. About an hour later that they closed the glass sliding doors and that muted the noise. Delivery of our two courses of delicious food was well paced and we didn’t feel rushed. We stayed with a seafood theme were not disappointed. The Fremantle octopus with 'Nduja, raisins and pangrattato was outstanding. Delicious cocktails and a well recommended rose. We will visit again and do lunch to enjoy the setting even more.
