terrible food avoid at all costs — trash overpriced food go somewhere else. the prawn spring rolls with truffle had multiple prawn tails inside the filling absolutely foul tasting. wagyu skewers were bland chewy and mush, could pull apart layers of beef as you chewed. the kingfish had few sad pieces scattered around. the tartare was like eating days old rice grains, was so dry. the char kway teow was overly sweet. the mumu chicken was so overfried as if they had refried it, so much batter and no chicken. the oysters were gross and stuck to the shells the vinaigrette was water.

Go for the Atmosphere not the Food — The atmosphere was great and the service very good. However the food was pretty average and the coctails were awful. Not really a foodies place but great if you want a slightly upmarket nosh up.
Lunch with friends — Rip-off alert! Beef cutlet 'sufficient for 4' people? Don't believe it! Ordered the special dish of the day, got 7-9 tiny slices of beef, no sides, and a $78 bill . Menu claims it's inspired by Asian cuisine, but I didn't see any of that 'sharing is caring' vibe. One star, would not recommend. Value for money? Nah, mate."
Great Food - Clunky Flow — Had dinner on 24.02.26 and whilst the food was delish the flow of service was just odd. Firstly, we had one of the sides come out which sat at the table for 10 minutes before our rice arrived. It took nearly 10 minutes again before 1 of our mains arrived at the table. The second main seemed to go missing entirely. Requested the bill 3 times which seemed to keep being forgotten. Once we got the bill our last main arrived and by this point, we had to leave to get to our next reservation. The team tried to recover the service with some free dessert but we already had dessert plans elsewhere. No further efforts to recover the service were made. The food alone doesn't warrant a recommendation so unfortunately wouldn't go back. Had high hopes as first visit to one of the Merivale joints of the precinct which seem to get a lot of hype.
Beautiful Asian food — This buzzing restaurant is busy and quiet noisy. Staff is lovely and prices are in the mid range for Sydney. The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty.
Surprisingly good quality! — We did not expect great quality Asia food but were blown away by the dishes we chose. Fabulous food, great atmosphere and good staff.
Great food and atmosphere! — Went for my brothers 14th birthday and loved it! The food was amazing and our waiter was lovely and attentive. The food didn’t take too long to come and the menu is great. Interior is also great and has a really good vibe and atmosphere.
Your taste buds will thank you! — We walked from our Liverpool St accommodation - a nice evening, and the light rail wasn't working due repairs for a few days. We opted for an outside table and inside there's a DJ and it's generally it's very loud, because it's popular. The food was so delicious, flavours just popped. Cocktails were good too, as was the service, it was prompt and efficient. It was just under AUD300 for 3 of us, food and drink, but worth it.
Restaurant Mumu — The Mumu restaurant is located on the main street of Sydney, Australia. Pleasant and displaced space, serving Thai dishes, such as Nasi Goreng.
Food was delicious — Attended a work lunch at Mumu. There were 12 of us so we went for the $92 banquet. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I especially loved the Kingfish and Nasi goreng. Each dish was brought out at a good pace and the staff was friendly and efficient. The ambience was pretty good although it’s a very dark space and it can get very loud and hard to hear anyone who isn’t next to you. We had an enjoyable lunch though and would definitely go back.
Inconsistent — There appeared to be a lack of consistency on our most recent visit, as previous experiences were enjoyable but this occasion fell short of expectations. The ambience is comfortable and modern, though somewhat noisy due to high ceilings and hard surfaces, even when the restaurant is not busy. The oysters paired well with Vietnamese mint vinaigrette, the Yuzu Slushee and Que Vera Vera provided an excellent grill selection, and both the honey glazed charsiu chicken and lamb cutlets were flavourful; the crispy eggplant was particularly impressive. However, portion sizes for some dishes have noticeably decreased since our last visit, making sharing impractical. My wife, who rarely voices concerns, felt compelled to share her dissatisfaction with our server, yet no acknowledgment or escalation occurred, leaving us uncertain whether management was informed or responsive to feedback. This may have contributed to the restaurant being only half full during our visit.
A great Chinese meal with fantastic service — We went, 5 of us from our law office on an early Wednesday evening for a staff EOFY dinner and had the $92 ph banquet dinner as it saved decisions over ordering and we were all glad we did it this way. Fantastic tasty dishes and plenty of food. And with drinks and great service for a very good night out. Restaurant was packed too.
Very tasty — The Restaurant was packed, we were 14 people, ordered the Menue and were all very pleased with the variety and the flavours of the dishes. Each round was a delight. Great service too. Highly recommended for Foodies.
Good food, Great staff. — Found the staff to be excellent. Arrived after being caught in a thunderstorm and they quickly provided some napkins so we could dry ourselves off. Food was very nice although overpriced for what you get. Service was outstanding.
Pretentious Asian fusion with an obscene price tag. — If you HAVE to eat in that particular area in CBD and dance at IVY afterwards, please go somewhere else with more authentic Asian food and friendly price tag. Trying so hard to justify their offering end up us all just contributing to the Merivale empire. Seriously, get some decent plates first. You think it’s rustic, I call that cheap and nasty…def wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s on corporate account or heavily discounted.
Super delicious... — great asian restaurant with stylish decor....very delicious Bami Goreng with shrimp and smoked beef with rice noodles...super delicious...restaurant is busy, so a table reservation is recommended
Great, attractive and unique — The venue offers a great Asian fusion experience, offers a large menu option, is modern, nice and spacious. The surrounding the venue the ambience is unique. Food and dishes are exceptional good and tasty, very good service, attentive, quick and friendly. It is in fact a nice place to share dinner or lunch with family and friends.
Don’t go for drinks! You’ll get ripped off! — Hubby and I thought we’d pop in for an evening drink. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and got less than half a glass for $14!! That stinks!! Go to any bar or restaurant in Australia and you’ll get a full flute of sparking. You need to change this or charge less for a glass as the prices are ridiculous!
Beyond disappointing — Really below average. My third trip to a merivale restaurant (maybe I should’ve given up after the first two) and probably the most disappointing. Incredibly slow service, had to go to the bar twice to order our drinks, and had to ask the waitress twice for the bill. Our entrees were good, but honestly had better at my local Chinese. The main course was dried up pork, no flavour. There fact we paid nearly $200 for this experience and the waitress didn’t even ask us how our meal was is quite appalling. Please don’t bother.
Not worth the hype at all. — Some of the most inauthentic Asian food I have ever eaten anywhere in Australia. Bland. Dry. Just pretty damn awful really.
