Awesome! — Awesome atmosphere! Food was equally awesome… so fresh with great flavors!

You wouldn’t bring your Te-ta here! — Never thought I’d report negatively on a Merivale dining venue, but unfortunately tonight I am. Jimmy’s Falafel you’ve dropped your game. We’ve eaten well here a number of times. Tonight we ordered 2 vegetarian plates plus my husband also ordered the lamb Kafta shish. What place do cucumber, tomatoes, shredded raw cabbage, butterhead lettuce leaf have on a Middle Eastern vegetarian plate?? Needless to say I didn’t eat those, it wasn’t a salad I ordered. And although the eggplant the falafel and hummus went some way to filling our tummies that’s all the good I have to say. Execution and flavour lacking. We both left feeling dissatisfied and the food repeating on us. Within an hour and a half my husband had an upset tummy. I had to pull over on the motorway on the way home for him to be sick. On arrival at home he made a beeline for the bathroom and was violently ill. Diarrhoea and violent vomiting. Was it the lamb or the salad items? I didn’t eat those and so far I am still ok. He is now resting and we will never be back. Wonder who else is sick in the city tonight?

Okay — Good falafels. Chicken skewers with an aftertaste. Interesting experience to have once. Way too noisy, music is loud, we can't talk!!

Jimmys not worth the hype — Jimmy’s was over priced. The flat bread was an optional extra that comes as a standard at any other Lebanese restaurant, and to add insult to injury they only offered 3 small flat bread for $7.50. Portions size was small and the menu limited.a”. Would not go again. Definitely does not live up to the hype.

Perfect lunch — Stopped by and had the chicken pitta, which was absolutely amazing. Chicken tasted like it was cooked over charcoals, good tahini and fresh salad and pickles (was there radish as well?) I’ve tried to recreate it since returning to the UK but it’s not the same, will definitely be back when I next go to Australia. The decor was really nice and they played good music.

Great Middle Eastern — Service was great, food was the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had in a while- we had meze and it was full of flavour. Would highly reccommend

Pseudo lebanese — Trying very hard to be Lebanese but not quite there but I should add the falafel was the highlight of the meal! The big let down was the Lebanese bread 3 big pita breads but served cold,had to ask the waitress to put them on the grill. The hummus and babaganoush were ok without being great. For what you get the prices are high

Another delicious treat at Jimmy’s — We arrived late-ish on a flight from NZ and, as usual, this was our first stop. It was Friday night and the place was packed but the staff still found us a seat at the bar. Very professional service, great drinks and (of course) delicious falafel. Definitely a great cheap n cheerful option in downtown Sydney.

Poor quality overpriced food — My first and last experience at this restaurant. The pita bread was stale and after 2 attempts at new pita bread did not improve. In fairness we were not charged for the pita bread. Grilled octopus with tabouli was tough and tasteless. Tabouli lacked flavour and freshness. Lamb shish was three small pieces of lamb with 2 small onion slices on a skewer. Not value for $18. Eggplant was average. My Heineken beer was good as this was not produced in the kitchen.

Good Food, Slow Service — This is a very popular place. The food is very good, but it was packed. It’s a good option for late night dining. However, the service was quite slow, and it felt pricey for what you get (e.g. just a pita).

Too posh but same as street food — Too posh but same as street food They are a Falafel full restaurant and the prices reflect that. Disappointing that they use supermarket pitta bread, when asked they confirmed baked there every day, don’t think so (have eaten falafel at many places in the world and I know my bread). This spoiled our experience. They should come clean

Interrogation upon entry — As soon as you walk in they ask you all these questions. First they ask how you are, then they ask if you’ve been here before, then they ask you if you say yes I’ve been here before. “So are you familiar with our menu? Do you know what you want to order?” Which I think is silly to ask those questions. We can read menus.. we wanted a table to sit and order not to be asked as soon as we walked in. Why does it matter if we’ve been there before? What experience change is there? What is so fancy about ordering a pita that you need to ask if we are familiar with the menu? The food was fine. But I won’t go back there. A lot of workers there just standing around talking amongst them selves. Just confused with the decor also with Israeli posters on the wall when none of the food is Israeli.

Excellent good and service. — The food was delicious especially the baba ganoush and the chicken shish. The service was lovely and polite. I will definitely revisit when I’m next in Sydney.

Nice Meal & Vibe — Jimmy’s Falafel restaurant is one of the best Lebanese’s Restaurants in Sydney. The Resturant is located in the George St and specialized in Mediterranean foods in general. The vibe is so nice and the price is kind a reasonable too compared to the food quality served. The service is also brilliant and staff are friendly. I enjoyed the meal and it is really has the taste of the Lebanese restaurants back in Middle East. Food is also Halal according to them. Personally recommended even for Vagin.

Great food, poor service — We visit Jimmy’s whenever we are in Sydney, paid a visit this evening and as usual the food was exceptional however our overall treatment was appalling, we arrived at 6.50pm and were advised that a table was available however they would need us to leave by 8pm which seemed reasonable, we ordered within 5 minutes of seating and then waited until 7.25 for our meal to arrive, we were then prompted at 7.45 that we needed to either hurry and finish or move to another table, we were then told 5 minutes later that the other party had arrived, We quickly finished paid and left before 8. We would suggest in future if you impose time constraints that your service makes them comfortable, we would have much rather waited 10 minutes when we arrived for another table to become available than be rushed through our meal.

Good food, bad customer service — I went with a friend for dinner to Jimmy's Falafel on a Saturday night. It was not awfully crowded for a Saturday in Sydney. Wait for tables inside was about 20 minutes, but we were told, we can get a table outside in a few minutes, so we chose that option. There are only 3 tables outside, and two of them were available but needed to be cleaned. We sat at one of the tables until the waiter comes to clean it. The receptionist came to tell us sternly that "we cannot do that." I told her no worries but no need for the strong tone. Rather than apologizing, she told me "that's not nice of you." Later, after waiting for about 15 minutes (that's what they call "few") we get the table (the table basically stayed empty for 15 minutes, waiting for someone to clean it). We sat and started checking the menu. The waitress came to take our orders, and we started asking her about some items. She was quite impatient, and said she will come back in a few minutes once we made up our mind. Food eventually came. I'd rate it as "good" but not impressive. Customer service is bad, and owner should pay attention to what customers are saying over and over again. Train your staff better!!

Avoid this place — one of the worst arabic food i have been to, had high hopes walking into this falafel spot, but unfortunately, it missed the mark on almost every front. The falafel itself was dry and crumbly, lacking the fresh herbs and bold spices that make this dish sing. The pita was stale, and the tahini sauce tasted more like watered-down dressing than anything authentic. Service was slow and indifferent. I waited nearly 25 minutes for a simple order, and when it arrived, it was lukewarm. The staff seemed distracted and disengaged, which only added to the sense of neglect. The ambiance didn’t help either—dim lighting, sticky tables, and music that didn’t match the vibe. For a place that claims to celebrate Middle Eastern flavors, it felt like the soul was missing. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope this one encourages the owners to revisit their recipes, retrain their staff, and bring some care back into the kitchen. Falafel deserves better.

Lacking Authenticity — Absolutely horrible experience. Could not recommend. A sorry excuse for Middle Eastern food . Was extremely disappointed in the white experience.

Just an OK experience! — Our experience was OK, nothing to write home about. We felt 2 skewers of chicken for $29 AUD was a bit over the top, considering there was no side that came with the dish. The pita chips were deep fried with seasoning on them, my partner gave them a 6/10. We were seated promptly and the bartender took a drink order/food order in a timely manner. We didn’t stick around for a second drink after our meals were done.
