Nathaniel and his performance was immaculate! Definitely felt supported and secure in my decision.

Ridley on Main Apartments

Not everyone is perfect, but the management team has been BEYOND understanding in multiple instances with my own, personal situation. They have accommodated and been lenient with my entire stay. Things happen sometimes that are beyond our control, but hopefully they happen less frequently here at the Ridley for future residents! Or at least attended to in a timely manner! Other than that, the Ridley was a good place for me during my time here.
Honestly as a new tenant, this is exactly what I hoped living downtown would be like. The area and interior is incredibly quiet, the unit is very beautifully laid out, it feels executive, access to everything is easy, no savage college parties and wrecked property like at other apartments I've seen...etc etc. From all my years of renting, this is by far the best experience so far. You get a bit more than what you pay for. The minor things that have come up, Vanessa has been amazing at taking care of.
Do Not Move Here First and foremost, it’s incredibly loud. Just pray you don’t get a unit facing orange ave, or else you will hear sirens 24/7. Neighbors are always loud and blasting music, nobody will do anything to stop that. About once a month the fire alarm will go off at 3am, this is especially fun if you have pets. The alarm will go on for around 15 minutes! The elevators are gross and are broken a fair amount. Guest parking is now only a dozen spots. Good thing the gate is alway broken, because everyone, including guests, go up and park past the gate now. Retail spots are never going to open up underneath, lived here for 14 months and no business survived, but you get a ticket if you park in a retail parking spot. Most people that I have talked to are very grateful when their lease has ended, myself included.
Couple of things to note, Love the location, and the actual apartment. The living room and kitchen area are so spacious, you almost forget you are in a apartment. I don't ever hear my neighbors in my apartment, Just in the hallway. So as far from noise from neighbors I have zero complains. As far as outside noise, I wake up to leaf blowers almost 4/5 weekdays. I don't really understand how landscaping has to be done so often for two patches of grass. Nathaniel was super sweet and helpful throughout the whole move in process! Definitely go to him! Aside from him, going in there when its Vanessa is dreadful. Don't understand how someone could have such a bad attitude and be so stank at doing her job. Visitor Parking is a nightmare but doesn't help that some of those cars don't move at all, so most people i'm assuming are just leaving their third car there. So mostly street parking for visitors.
TLDR: terrible communication and boneheaded decision-making from the new owners. In May of 2022 the complex was bought by a new company (Knightvest) that manages their properties directly. I hoped that would mean they'd be more attentive to the building and the residents, and despite the new company putting in some effort to change a few things (the dog park is incredible now!), overall their management choices and communication to residents have been extremely poor. - This week management emailed the residents saying they'd be conducting fire alarm inspections and would need to enter each unit to make sure all of the equipment was in working order. What they didn't tell us was the fire alarm would be going off for *over an hour*. Like many of the residents here I work from home, and if they had respected us enough to say "the fire alarm will be going off for about an hour starting at this day/time, we're sorry for any inconvenience" I could have made arrangements, but since they didn't tell us the truth I had to cancel a client meeting. - Management is also towing any cars that park on the bottom floor of the parking garage, saying those spots are "retail parking only." The problem is, none of the retail in the building is occupied, so they're keeping the bottom floor empty for no reason. They told us to make sure our guests park in the visitor parking, but there are a total of 21 guest spaces for a complex of 375 units, so you can see how this decision doesn't make any sense. - Safety and security should not be a selling point if you're looking to move in here, because controlled access to the complex is a joke. As of today (6/7/23) our key fobs aren't letting us into the building, but some locks don't work at all and anyone has access. Currently (see photo) one of the doors to Gore St. won't even *close*, much less lock, and management's solution was just to put a sign on the door that says "please use main entrance." Ultimately what I want is to feel safe and respected in the place I call home. I feel neither of those things right now with Knightvest managing the property.
