Poor workmenship, didnt stand by their work. very sorry I used them, QUICK UP DATE, had Olson back out, its a bad mix, and thats will it fell apart , which sounds crazy for z company that do this for a living, they will come back, so they said, but never heard another word. It was a small job for them, didn't make a lot, but it was for me, its best to find a QUALITY company who are proud of the work , no matter the size of the job !! Check out the pictures before you decide to hire this company !
Requested a quote and Olsen sent out Jeff - my comments echo what others have said about him. I requested a call before the estimator showed up to confirm appointment time. Because we all know how reliable contractors are at being timely. No call, just a business card in my mailbox. Didn't even take measurements. I call the number on the card, Jeff agrees to call AM following day. Never calls. He calls me randomly during the PM wondering if I'm home.
I feel if you are a person of minority,do not call them at all! They can’t tell me they don’t charge a “race” price. Believe me,I’m not that kind of person that wants to believe that at all but there is some validity! I have 2 different co-workers that referred Olsen and from what I seen, they do excellent work. 1 co-worker had a full driveway done from backyard to the street. Price they paid, not bad at all. So I get a estimate for my driveway which is very very small compared to my co worker, and I was quoted $2000 more…huh? I didn’t go with them. So 2 years later,I’ll give them another chance. My patio is literally 25’x15’,i call Olsen again, was quoted $7900…huh? I ended up going with Reale Cement out of Woodhaven for half the cost and the work was phenomenal!!! So like I said,I’m not that kind of person that’s why I have them another opportunity and they failed. So if you’re any race other than white, they’ll quote you a “race” price. They 2 co-worker of mine who is white himself even thinks the same. He was getting a patio done as well bigger than mine, but at a cheaper cost. Huh….really?
The work was completed and done well. The communication was terrible. I got a call on Thursday 7/22 at 425 saying we want to do your driveway tomorrow. I said great. She said theyd call to let us know if theyd be there at 730 or 1130. No call but showed up at 845 to start. About 130, as I was working from home, went upstairs to see how things were going. Nobody was there. I called and she said oh they may be back later or not. They were not. So I went to office on Ecorse Saturday morning and was told that well no...they werent going to do it yesterday, they were just going to break out and form it and had to wait for inspection. I advised i work at Blue Cross and not in cement so had no idea and this was NOT communicated to me. Furthermore it left us without a driveway for the whole weekend. Not to mention our gate was taken down and we had dogs at the house. A REAL inconvenience. She had no empathy and just said well thats how it is and that the inspection wouldnt have been done Friday anyway as city of Dearborn Heights inspectors are closed Fridays. So, Monday 7/26 they showed up LOUD at 645 am and did work to pour the driveway. Again no communication. I was able to catch someone before they left to ask about restrictions of walking on or parking on. I was told could walk on the next day and drive on 10 days. They showed up the next day and removed forms and put fence back up and the back door sill. The work we are fully satisfied with. But the communication and care for customer not at all. To break out and leave for the weekend was for what was best for them and not for the customer. Had we been told on that thursday that wed be all weeekend with no fence....because there would be no inspection, Id have declined the request to "do our driveway " on Friday, and waited for a more convenient date.
