North Florida Surgeons

I went for a hearing test with Dr Judith Nelson at NFS who recommended a number of tests but I would have to pay $250 up front. Decided to proceed with the various tests. After the additional tests were completed it was determined my hearing is deteriorating but not enough to recommend any corrections. Normal for a 65 yr old man. Then 6 weeks later I receive a bill for an additional $900.00 making my out of pocket hearing tests cost $1400.00 after insurance paid their portion. I guess I should be glad I have good insurance. My complaint is NFS needs to be up front with the actual cost verses blind siding their patients especially after stating the cost was $250.00. I am so disappointed in this billing I could spit nails.

I had an excellent experience with North Florida Surgeons and Dr. Uchal! They walk you through the entire process from beginning to end and stay with you after the procedure. I had the gastric bypass roux-en-y procedure and I've had great results so far. Dr. Uchal, my surgeon visited me each day while I was in the hospital post-op. What I appreciated the most is that he listened to and addressed all the concerns I had while in the hospital. Before and still now after the procedure, I never have a visit with him where he doesn't listen to and address any questions I might have. He has an excellent bedside manner and the staff are exceptional friendly. I have read some negative comments regarding billing, but I personally knew exactly what to expect, as I communicated with my insurance company thoroughly before moving forward with the procedure. I personally had no surprise bills after the procedure. I do not mean to say that the other reviews aren't honest experiences, but I just feel it's fair that I at least tell the truth of my own experience. I feel that the surgery saved my life, and I am grateful to Dr. Uchal and the entire staff at North Florida Surgeons!

Tried to call about tests they did on my husband that were uncovered by insurance without disclosing that information until after bill. They blamed on covid. I didn't know covid caused nondisclosure problems, WOW. Someone should let people know that is a symptom of covid 19, deception.

I was told I would pay 200 dollars up front and then received a bill in the mail for 700 dollars. Dr. Kara Wanchick talked me into a procedure I didn't want and charged me 500 dollars for a numbing agent and a1/4 inch incision. This is why people hate doctors because they don't care about people they just care about their wallets!

Dr Hartigan came highly recommended and he did not disappoint. I had an excellent experience with him. I would recommend him to others.
