I have been twice recently for a short layered haircut (think Bixie) and my experience has been perfect. It's great feeling good about your hair, and feeling trust in the stylist to get it right. Hope it stays affordable here

Mamawest has earned the hype. Thank you to Charm, Mars, and Honey for taking care of me during my first haircut in 7+ years. Charm really listened to what I wanted and focused on long term hair care rather than expensive treatments! Thank you my darlings and see you in a few weeks 🥂

Second cut with Uncle West and first time colour with Bestie West. Uncle West is an absolutely incredible cutter, he is crazy skilled. He is such a nice person and so easy to chat to. He doesn’t rush the appt, asks heaps of questions and shows real attention to detail in his work. Gives the best head massages too! Uncle West also does colouring and he was bang on with matching and applying my hair colour. This appt I had Bestie West for my colour application. What a breath of fresh air she is. Fantastic, precise colourist who is great company. Definitely happy to see Bestie again! The salon has a very relaxed, welcoming vibe and they are obviously all about going that extra mile for their clients. Super impressed so far by my own experience, other cuts and colours I have seen there and already wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them :)

Love my new hair. I gave Uncle west a brief and he completely understood (better than I did myself). I left the salon this morning and have lad a beautiful day making hand made silk flower pins to adorn my new locks! If you have floated from hairdresser to hairdresser and never quite happy or inspired by the result, Mama West is the place to go. Thank you Tom for knowing my hair better than I do and being just so wonderful throughout. Ps: Shout out to whoever made me a massive pot of tea with scorched almonds and Oskah for such an inspiring conversation about life, purpose and justice.

I was well looked after by SpicyWest!! She fixed up my fringed bob with lots of TLC alongside taking the mission seriously! Everybody in the shop seems friendly and nice. Complimentary drink and snack was an easy brownie point! 😊 I definitely recommend!

Went in for a restyle with Mars, a student, and had a great experience. Hadn’t had a cut in over a year and wanted something new, and she absolutely smashed it. Lots of great advice on styling in addition to a great cut that made me feel very good trying to a new style that felt ambitious. Four different stylists came and helped out by the end of it and all of them were lovely and knowledgable. Will definitely be headed back!

First haircut experience in Australia… and honestly, very disappointing. The salon asked to reschedule my appointment, but the new time didn’t work for me. When I asked for my $50 deposit back so I could book elsewhere, I was told it couldn’t be refunded and could only be used for a future appointment. I understand policies, but I expected more empathy !Especially since I didn’t request the reschedule.! I went to the Salon at the end and the haircut itself? Let’s just say…😭 Add: How come you replied that you cannot identify my booking since you just messaged me wanting to make things right for me. Yes, you are the one who canceled my booking. I got all the proofs email, message etc. and Yes, you didn’t show any compassion. Thank you 🙏

I’ve struggled to find a hairdresser for many years as I used to be one myself that could cut my hair the way I’d ask I was recommended by someone on Instagram when I posted on my story I had Charm cut and style my hair and when I looked in the mirror o was so shocked I cried, yes I know a tad OTT but I was so shocked at how amazing my hair looked! He’s amazing!

Had my hair cut here this week and they were great! Friendly and professional staff and a relaxed environment to get a hair cut. I often find salons a bit pretentious but not here. They listened to what I wanted while also making their own suggestions along the way and I ended up very happy with the outcome. And I could bring my greygound in to chill out while I got my trim! The offer of espresso coffee and sparkling water was the cherry on top of a great experience. Can highly recommend.

Such a great experience for my first appointment at MAMAWEST. My stylist was Unclewest who was super friendly and welcoming. He had an excellent understanding of what I wanted and gave me a brilliant cut and colour. Also lots of great suggestions for styling, hair care and future colour ideas. It was an all-round fabulous experience in a friendly professional setting. I’m so happy to have found this salon!!!
