I was transferred from Dade City Adventist Hospital recovering from the flu with no one to support me. I was told Saturday that I'd be transferred to Hillside Sunday @ 3 o'clock. When transport delivered me there the lobby looked and smelled very nice. That was the end of the good impression. After 4 room changes and 2 hours no one told me anything. Not going well @ all. Wondering what comes next.
Smells like urine. Since the hurricane the wallpaper is peeling off the walls. Mother has sat in a dirty diaper for over an hour and gone without water for a while. Water is supposed to be served every 2 hours. Call buttons take forever to be answered and theft is really bad. Very rarely get to see a doctor. They keep changing their name once they get enough bad reviews. Bed sores and severe constipation are not treated properly. Would not recommend to anyone who cares about their loved ones. When you ask for example when last check up was on my mother the staff has no idea. Believe medications are sometimes forgotten or mixed up with other patients. I would leave zero stars if possible.
I recently spent 18 days at Hillside Health and Rehabilitation Center. The staff and nurses were exceptional. I must admit that I left with a few “favorites”. From housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, and administration everyone went above and beyond my expectations. Their occupational therapy and physical therapy staff provided excellent care and got me back on my feet in no time. I met people I would never have met otherwise; the sweetest residents I couldn't help but form a few attachments. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Hillside to anyone looking for a place to meet your needs. I highly recommended them to my primary care doctor.
Didn’t explain reason for med additions or changes. Call bells not being answered in a timely manner and when someone did come in they shut off the light and say they’d be right and that didn’t happen. Cups dirty around the rim. Silverware looks as if it was only since off. I have documented pictures to show regarding this. I was there for PT and OT. Got 20 minutes of each within 7 days. Saw a big cockroach on the curtain one night. I was non ambulatory and needed to use the bedpan. Once I was finished I’d be left on it sometimes over 20 minutes. Then when I asked for a diaper and it became wet or dirty I was kept waiting an incredible amount of time. Meds were never on time or within a reasonable time frame. Nurses would drop the med cup on the table then walk out. Or she would hand them to you and just walk out. Never explained what they were or made sure you took them or didn’t choke. I was given two meds for a condition I didn’t have. I was originally located in a wing meant for nursing home patients and I was put in a room with an incontinent patient with a urine smell that was nasty and disgusting. There’s no room here to list all the problems. These are some of the worst.
I was at hillside or heartland I think they were sold for around 5 weeks before going I read the reviews and I was kind of hesitant on the hospital sending me to this place. Some of the reviews said that the place smelled like urine I don't know where they get that from when I stepped into the front door on the stretcher it smelled good going down the hallway to the room it smelled good and clean when I got into the room the room was larger than I thought it would be and it smelled clean I had no issues at all with the cleanliness of this place. The nurses are all very polite and kind and the CNAs just as now on to the therapy part I have to personally think Michelle and Tiffany for their outgoing caring work they do. Never had any issues with them whatsoever they were also very knowledgeable and would give great advice on what needed to be done or who to talk to for my needs. The only thing that they need to work on is the food the food has small portions and a lot of the items that they serve just need a little more attention. I did a lot of ordering out with delivery companies because the food was not very good to me but overall a 9 out of a 10 rating this place would get a 9.5
