Hilldrup

As a military family we have moved over 30 years. We worked with countless contractors and Wayne and his crew were the very best we have seen. They knew our elderly parents were leaving their home and appreciated the kindness his crew offered. He spoke kindly and genuinely cared for us as family. They set the bar extremely high for what an honest and ethical move should be and would recommend them highly.

Delivery scheduled between 12 noon to 4 pm, called at 4:50, dispatch had the driver call me, but the driver said he dod not have delivery? Called vendor, they sent mew tracking link which now said 11am to 11 pm? I sent my men home at 5pm, now I am stuck waiting until 11pm? It's now 7:30 and I have zero confidence delivery will be made! This trucker is an absolute disgrace especially since they received the otems to deliver two days ago!

I am providing a split review for Hilldrup based on two very different experiences.The 5-Star Experience ******************* actual move was flawless. ****** ******* is a phenomenal sales professional who was responsive, accurate, and wonderful to work with throughout the bidding process. On the day of the move, ***** ****** and his crew were the gold standard of professionalism. They handled our assets with extreme care, stayed on schedule, and made a stressful day significantly easier. If I were rating the move itself, it would be 10/10.The 1-*********************** Coordination):Unfortunately, the post-move administrative process was handled with a shocking lack of professionalism by ******* ***** (Move Counselor). Due to a documented **** failure, a check from my legal escrow agent was delayed in transit. Despite my active, daily efforts to coordinate a solutionincluding offering to have a replacement check reissued immediatelyRebecca chose to threaten me with "collections" rather than assist in basic ****************** is ironic that a logistics company was "unable" to facilitate a local check pickup in ******** to secure their own revenue, yet quick to issue threats against a customer for a third-party postal error. Had it not been for the professionalism of the Shaheen Law Firm stepping in to bridge the gap, this would have escalated further.Summary: Hire Hilldrup for the crew and the sales team (****** and ***** are awesome), but be prepared for a complete lack of support and professional courtesy from the move counseling department if any administrative hurdle arises.

They delivered a Saatva Mattress for me which included removal of old mattress on Friday, March 27th 2026 09:30 AM - 01:30 PM They came around 11 am and the two gentlemen were very polite, careful and did an excellent job. It was also raining and the mattress was covered in plastic.

We used Hilldrup for a local 100 mile move. The crew arrived on time for both the ************* days. They were friendly and worked carefully, efficiently and quickly.

I had the misfortune of crossing paths with some Hilldrup movers today while walking my dog on a busy stretch of Adams Mill Road, DC. They had completely blocked the path with a ramp that was about 3 feet off the ground - too high to step over and too low to go under. When I asked them to it, they initially ignored me then told me to walk in the street. With the size of the truck and the way they were parked that would have meant my dog and I had to literally walk in the middle of the street. A lawsuit just waiting for Hilldrup. It would have taken 2 of them 2 minutes to move the ramp. They were horribly rude and unprofessional. Truck number is in the photos below.

We used Hilldrup for our cross-country move (midwest to east coast) and they were truly amazing!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ask for Billy as your driver, he went above and beyond both on move-out and move-in day. My husband had to move ahead of me and he made me feel very cared for doing this on my own. They protect all the floors and any corners of the home that may be tricky so I had zero home damage, furniture was put back together in our new house and not a single thing broken! No gimmicks or scamming on pricing either. Highly recommend!

We used them for our cross-country move (Kansas City to Charlotte), and they were truly amazing from start to finish!! Request Billy as your driver if you can, he went above and beyond on both move days and communicated thoroughly! They did light packing for us too and i'm mad I didn't just have them do it all because they were SO fast and packed everything so well. They protected the floors and walls on any tricky corners when we moved into our new home so nothing was damaged, none of our items were lost or broken either. I've heard horror stories about moving companies and people being scammed before so I was nervous- they have zero scammy pricing and are very transparent through the whole process!

I had to relocate from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Fredericksburg, Virginia for work. From the very first phone call with Andrea, the Hildrup Team was exceptional. Maria was incredibly helpful, answering all of my questions, clearly explaining the process, and handling the logistics of my move with ease. The moving crew, Emmanuel and David, were outstanding. They packed and loaded the truck in an impressive amount of time while remaining friendly, efficient, and professional throughout. Two days later, I met up with Emmanuel and David again at my new location, and they unloaded everything just as quickly and professionally. From start to finish, my experience with Hildrup was excellent, and I would highly recommend them.

I have used Hilldrup previously and had no problem. This time Hilldrup seriously disappointed me. I had furniture stored by another moving company and then delivered to Hilldrup which delivered it to me. My dining table arrived at my house with serious damage to the surface. Hilldrup claimed the other company caused the damage and they had noted the damage when they took delivery of it from the other company. The other company claimed that Hilldrup did not identify this damage accurately and therefore Hilldrup must be at fault. Hilldrup flatly refused to cover any of the repairs to my table, and continued to blame the other company. The other company ultimately stepped up and provided money to cover the cost of half of the repairs. In addition, while I was trying to get Hilldrup to shoulder a portion of the responsibility for the damage, as both moving companies acknowledged that the moving process was to blame for the damage, Hilldrup cut off all communication with me. Not impressed with Hilldrups lack of integrity or their customer service.

Two moves in one year - couldn't have done it without Hilldrup! Charles runs a first rate organization! Rusty and his team are best in the business! I can't say enough good things about this moving company. The team was professional, courteous, and incredibly efficient. They took great care with our furniture/items, worked nonstop, and kept a positive attitude the entire time. Moving is never fun, but they truly made it less stressful. I would recommend them without hesitation!

We used Hilldrup to move us out of our former home, store our belongings for 30 days and then deliver to our new home. Our Move Counselor Maria was a delight to work with as she was responsive to all of inquiries and kept us well informed during the entire process. She was great! Equally superb were the teams that moved us out and in. As we had eight folks for the move out, it was quick and painless. Unfortunately, I do not have all the names but they were all great. Josh was our team manager and he also led the crew that moved us both out and in. Jason and Dee were part of the team that packed us out and then moved us back in but I don't recall the other folks....they were all great. Five hours to get a 4 bedroom house loaded and again, 5 hours to move us in. No damage to furniture or marks on walls! Hilldrup did a fantastic job from start to finish.

Great work on my move. I would definitely use them again!

This was my first use of Hilldrup Movers, they moved my daughter three times and she was very happy with their service. I was not disappointed. Every step went flawless, from my call with their coordinator Maria, to the estimator Pete, who remotely viewed all of my possessions, to the moving team leader, Fred. They handled everything perfectly and professionally. I had over 150 cartons, it was a big move and it was a reasonable charge for all they did for me. They came and packed everything the first day, including an extensive artwork collection, fragile lamps and antique furniture. The second day was more packing and loading on the truck; they even sent a transport truck to move my large mower. Early on the third day my mower was delivered first and then the moving van arrived. I had to rent a small U-Haul truck for some miscellaneous items and Fred and his team unloaded those things for me first. They were fast and careful. They were finished all by early afternoon. Each person on the team packed things so well and/or carried them carefully in and out of my homes. It was the best team of people - all kind and friendly and honest. None of my wood floors were scratched and there was not one broken item. If you have a move coming up, whatever size, you cannot go wrong with this professional company. I would use them again and I highly recommend this company.

I used this Hilldrup delivery on 12/8/2025. The communication with delivery team was fantastic. I was provided a window of delivery time and then texted with an exact time of arrival. The team was friendly, efficient and took care with my heavy package. Very satisfied with the teams overall customer service and *****************************.

We had a terrible experience with another mover 5 years ago so I was dreading our recent move. I went to the United site and they referred me to Hilldrup's Stafford, VA office. I had a lot of questions and requests (thanks to my previous experience) and thought Hilldrup was just outstanding. Ben Frakes, the Residential Sales Consultant, and Ann Carvajal, the Senior Move Counselor, were tremendously helpful. They answered all of our questions, re-quoted for us (I underestimated my packing speed), and they showed professionalism every step of the way. The packing and moving team was just great: professional, careful, thoughtful, and very helpful in asking where furniture should go and making a couple of suggestions. We had some small damage to a desk and that was easily repaired. A refund was issued promptly for the boxes we had packed, and we were glad we didn't have to follow up on it. I absolutely recommend them.

We have used Hilldrup for two long distance moves now, the most recent from S ******** to ******* Oct 2025. We cannot say enough about how professional and courteous this company is. The last drivers, ******** and ***** were an absolute pleasure to work with and the packing crew on both ends were excellent. I would not even consider using another company!

The entire process was professional and efficient. The price for the move was based on a virtual walk-through of my home and discussion of my needs. The price is fixed, so the workers are not paid by the hour and there are no surprises at the end. The movers wrapped all of my furniture items in blankets and placed a rubber strap around my outdoor chest. They were friendly and helped arrange the furniture. I decided to reposition a bed and they took care of it for me (with a warning that they can only reposition it once). I had labeled everything and everything except maybe 3 boxes were placed in the correct location. I have a lot of experience moving and I was very impressed with the service. I highly recommend Hilldrup.

First impressions, where the first time I called the toll free number 8777204066, I couldn't understand the lady I was speaking with, she transferred me to an agent in Jessup, MD who does not do in person assessments and the clerk answering the phone said"I don't know anything, I just answer the phones". I hung up, called back , and asked for somebody in VA (I live in the DC area) and the lady who seemed again, totally disinterested in her job- gave me a number of Hilldrup in Stafford, when choosing th option "0" to speak to a person, the message "we're sorry, that extension is unavailable", and then dropped me into a voicemail box, tells me all I need to know. Also understand that all of these companies are interrelated with North American, Allied, who report to SIRVA, so the service you are gonna get will be the same the only difference will be the price. These are on par with used car salesmen. BTW I am doing a coast to coast move, and am already nervous as hell about what to expect.
