clean l, affordable and comfortable bed. Cheryl(management) went above and beyond. Even baked biscuits and presented to us upon arrive. Great country hospitality feel.

I feel like the odd man out writing a negative review about this place when so many others have been so positive but, there were so many things that were sub-par that to us it was an unpleasant experience. Positives first: The lady on the desk was nice. Now the negatives: We had no wi-fi and this motel appears to be in a mobile dead zone so we were unable to do anything on-line. The lady on the desk made excuses and blamed Telstra and made it clear this was an ongoing and recurring issue. Parking next to the huge concrete planter box outside our room made it almost impossible to get out of the driver's seat without damaging my door. The room was dirty in several places. If you removed the plastic bag from the bin in the room you found that the bottom of the bin was putrid. The sink is in the kitchen area and we had to brush our teeth, wash our hands and wash our dishes in the same sink. The cutlery was dirty. The bathroom mat has to hang on a rail above the kitchen counter and above food items. So, after a shower we had to hang the wet bath pat over the kitchen counter. The TV is very off-set from the bed so I got neck ache watching it from the bed. The "queen" bed felt like a double. The bathroom floor around the toilet had a couple of disturbing stains. There was nowhere hang our towels after a shower. The old A/C woke us up several times when it kicked in with a roar. As the motel and KFC share a drive way, I had to wait behind a row of cars lined up at the drive through in order to get into the motel and our room. Sorry, but this was our experience.

We went to dinner at Lily's Restaurant part of the Highfields Motel so we can't remark about the motel as we live locally. The restaurant is adequate in size with much in-house created produce available for purchase. These include a variety of pasta, jams, savoury items and cordials. The food is great! Had the rib fillet steak cooked to my preference and enjoyed the caramelised onion topping on the steak plus mushrooms, mashed potatoes and roasted tomatoes and even some lovely relish. Staff are very pleasant and do a great job looking after everyone. The dessert we had a choice of coffee or chocolate panna cottage or house made various flavoured icecreams, we chose the delicious coffee panna cotta which was served with delicious vanilla icecream. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the ambience and service.

Very lovely and relaxing 3 night stay this weekend. Friendly staff and great service. Room was spacious, comfortable and quite :-). Staff asked each day if needed new linen, towels or bins emptied. Thanks for a lovely stay. Checked in 28 Oct 2022, checked out 31 Oct 2022.
