Fine Arts Dentistry

This visit was my regular six month checkup. Though I have been brushing and flossing for years, the hygienist detected some flaws in my technique, and offered some corrections. Very helpful.

My wife and I visited the clinic for the first time and were very impressed with the professionalism and care quality of Dr Patel and his team. After detailed initial exams and assessment of our dental issues, subsequent appointments have been planned to address them.

I have been going to Fine Arts Dentistry for over 4 years with minimal issues. The technicians have been great as well as the dentists themselves, I have seen both. Unfortunately my issue is with the office staff and policies. My main complaint is how they handle appointments. For regular cleanings you make your appointment 6 months in advance, just like any other dentist office, however, they will cancel your appointment without notice. I arrived for my 6-month cleaning only to be told that they would not have time for my cleaning. I scheduled it 6-months in advance and received 2 "reminder" emails the week before. The "reminder" emails offered the option to "confirm" the appointment or "call the office." It did not say that a confirmation was required to retain the appointment. In my busy schedule, just like everyone else, I did not respond to the email to "confirm" an appointment that I have had for 6 months and one which a confirmation was not required. I showed up to my appointment only to be told that they would not have time for my cleaning since I didn't "confirm" the appointment. The office manager was condescending and was unable to explain why my appointment was canceled, given that a confirmation is not "required." In these times and everyone's busy schedules, it was unnecessary and unfortunate. I have already found another dentist that does not adhere to policies like this.

I liked this dental office. At Fine Arts Dentistry, they took time to relay everything they were doing!

The personnel who does the scheduling is easily the worst I have ever experienced. My husband and I had to switch from our dentist that we had for over 20 years to a new dentist due to change in insurance. Our original appointment had to be rescheduled twice due to COVID and then a 3 rd time the week before we were scheduled to come in. The initial exam was just a consultation which was not explained to me. My husband went after me and he was able to insist on having his teeth cleaned during that appointment or he wasn't going to be returning. This sane last minute rescheduling of the next appointments has continued. Additionally they charge for a COViD fee for every visit which wasn't explained until I called back to question the charge. This morning I believe will be my last visit to this dentist. They don't seem to value anyone's time but their own Dr. Patel is very nice and seems competent but Believe they may need new office staff sin

Dr. Alston, they hygienists and all her staff are very friendly and professional. They are very patient focused and provide exceptional services.

This review has been over a year in the making. I came to this practice because it was in network for my insurance and fairly close to my home. Dr. Alston found two new cavities and wanted to re-do another filling I had had done about two years prior. Note...At this point I had only had 2 cavities in my entire life. I didn't want her to re-do the cavity with the existing filling but she insisted and I caved....I was apprehensive because I was experiencing zero pain or anything negative from the original filling (done by my previous dentist who retired). There was something on my x-ray on that tooth that she couldn't identify and she wanted a closer look. In hindsight, we should have kept an eye on it vs going in and messing. She removed the filling and couldn't put the new filling in. With my mouth open and bleeding, She told me I had to go to a periodontist and then, likely, an endodontist, I'd have to have a procedure called crown lengthening done and then probably a root canal before she could put on a new filling. I was stunned. Fast forward, over a year later...I had the crown lengthening done (est. $1300). Dr. Alston was able to put the filling in w/o the root canal, but after several infections, I finally had to have the root canal ($1000) and finally am in the process of getting a crown ($1700). All of this because I didn't absolutely stand my ground and refuse to have the work done that she adamantly recommended. She was very nice. My teeth cleaning went well. Staff was nice. My recommendation to anyone reading is that if it's not broken, don't fix it.

Dr Patel has been my dentist for a few years now and I always enjoy (yes--enjoy! Not a typo!) my bi-annual visits. The facility is spotless. They use barriers, masks, gloves... all the things that should be used to prevent infection. The staff are nice and my hygienist, Lauren, is so good at what she does.
