Dr. Steven L. Maskin

I have been a patient of Dr. Maskin since 2005. He gives each of his patients that same time and attention to detail. When it comes to a doctor who cares for his patients and uses his knowledge to find the best treatment method, I have met none better. I was referred to Dr Maskin in 2005 after having a 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burn to my left eye. This left me without sight in that eye. Through numerous surgeries, Dr. Maskin’s skill and guidance was able to restore my sight. His dedication to his field and patient care are top notch. This is why I don’t mind traveling over 500 miles for continued care.

Doc Maskin has had a huge impact on my recovery. I was a severe case of obstructive meibomian gland dysfunction and lost 20% of the tissue in my bottom left lid in the first year of being symptomatic. It took a bit of research to find the right treatment, but I finally did. It is critical to control inflammation both before and after the procedure, but once you gain a bit of control, probing is the only way to remove any mechanical blockage within the gland. I have not had a hordeolum in years. I have not lost tissue to atrophy in years after I began seeing doctor Maskin and doctor periman. I would even say it’s possible that I’ve regained function of tissue that was once lost. I owe so much to this procedure and hope we can continue to evolve and develop these treatments in the field to end the prevalence of dry eye for good.
