Dirt Floor Recording & Production Studio

Eric and Eli went above and beyond. I came in with an acoustic version of a song…. just bass and vocal and they transformed it into a full band experience to be proud of….highly recommended! Now if only I could sing better.

What can be said about Dirt Floor that hasn’t been said by virtually everybody who has crossed it’s threshold? Waking up in a log cabin overlooking the Connecticut river surrounded by vintage instruments and having a full day of recording ahead, is the perfect start to a day. Eric and company treat every song like it is their own and they refuse to put out a bad product. The attention to detail is natural rather than exhausting. They take the song where it wants to go and Eric doesn’t dwell on the small stuff, which makes for very productive days. The second I finished tracking my album “No Kings in the Wild”, I started thinking about my next project at Dirt Floor, that's how fun and comfortable it is to make a record here. This is the only way I want to make records, and together we made the best project I have ever been a part of.

While searching for a studio to record my debut project, I discovered Dirt Floor and immediately felt it was the perfect fit. Upon arrival, Eric and Eli were both so kind and welcoming. Their valuable insights and suggestions enhanced the recording process, creating a collaborative environment where I felt comfortable making changes and asking for advice. It was clear that they truly cared about my music and me as an artist, wanting everything to be the best it could possibly be and ensured that I was happy with every part. The atmosphere of the cabin in the woods was so cozy and just the perfect place for music. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to returning in the future! Ollie and Henley were also great company :)

My time at Dirt Floor has been incredible! From the moment I saw the log cabin studio deep in the woods of Haddam, I knew I was in the right place to make great music. The energy in the studio is inspiring, and I felt comfortable there almost immediately. I can't say enough great things about working with Eric. He made thoughtful and constructive suggestions that ultimately made my song even better. He was quick to jump behind the drum set, or grab a guitar that he thought would fit the song, or lay down some vocals that would nicely complement the music. Eric's many years of production experience and making incredible music of his own made this project come together beautifully. Working with Eric and his engineer, Guido, was super organic, and the results were everything I had hoped for. I left the studio feeling incredibly productive about our day, and with a mix of a song that I was in love with.
