Cowper Arms Hertford

We went for a meal last night and unfortunately the food was tasteless and not deserving the price of £14.75 and £16.75. We ordered the fish n chips (normally a safe bet) and the dirty burger. The fish n chips had an unpleasant taste as if it was on the turn and it looked not fully cooked, and the burger had no flavour and was on the small size. Thank God for lots of ketchup and vinegar. The pub is lovely and we decide to sit outside in the garden. During the whole meal the waitress never once came to see if our meal was OK, and the two tables beside us still had the dirty glasses etc. on them from the time we arrived until the time we left.

Visited Thursday night for a bite to eat after a bike ride. It was quite busy but was greated by a friendly staff member then seated quickly. Ordered fish cakes and pork belly. We shared the brownie for pudding. All meals were tasty. Will be going back soon the menu has such good choice.

Beautifully decorated pub restaurant down a quiet country lane. Loads of seating in quaintly styled areas as well as a healthy amount of dining. Large garden area out back and a smaller one out the front. Staff are always pleasant and there's lots of them. Ample car parking and space around. A really nice place to visit

warm welcome when we arrived . shown to our seat promptly. nice seat by bar service was very good from start to finish from all staff, we were made to feel welcomed. Food was as good as it gets, very nice. Overall a very nice change from other restaurants where disappointment is around the next corner. A very large pat on your backs. well done

Even though the restaurant was full, the service and food were excellent. Reasonably priced too. I go here from time to time as its a guaranteed good meal.
