Cambridge

I have lived in Cambridge Court for the past 2 years and it has a lot of great perks. It is only about a 10-15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to BYU campus, and you can walk to so many other different local places. There is also a bus station right outside Cambridge which goes to a ton of different places. There are always open parking spots for bikes and cars both in covered and uncovered lots Cambridge which is amazing for all of the snow. So, this is a great location if you walk, ride a bike, have a car, take the bus, etc. The maintenance team is also really quick to fix any problems, like REALLY. We have never had any problems with bugs or mold, we just keep our apartment clean and it's great! The rooms are pretty big and we fit a bed, desk, keyboard, and dresser all in our bedroom with plenty of extra space. The price is pretty normal for Provo and totally worth it due to the location on top of so many other reasons!

The location is almost perfect, but sadly I can't say much else about the pros of living here. Cons: -It seems spacious but the floor plan is a terrible use of space compared to any other apartment the same or smaller size. Good enough for a young couple with the basics, but not great. -You can always hear everything happening in the apartment above you, and unless the loud AC is running, you can hear everything outside, which gets annoying right by the busiest street in Provo. -Did not love the management and communication with them was always terrible... for instance: I missed several very important updates because I never initially opted in to their "marketing email subscription". Also so much poor indirect communication with several broken promises and misunderstandings with management, in addition to not being very reliable or easy to get ahold of. -The parking lot is super tight and crowded and is patrolled by the infamous UPE, who will do far more harm than good for residents, such as booting and towing cars at high costs for legally parking in your paid lot. Also lots of noted problems with safety and theft, especially underground. -The price was reasonable at some point, but after unnecessary and unwanted "remodels" and "updates" the rent is completely unaffordable. -The laundry here is expensive and very unreliable. -Our contract said absolutely no pets, but because so many people had pets anyway, they became pet friendly part way through so they could charge money for those pets. Now it's overrun with a lot of loud dogs, as if the regular noise wasn't enough already. -The temperature is impossible to regulate. Many days in the winter we didn't even touch the heaters or have anything turned on and we were sweating to death, but the windows were impossible to crack open. Yet in the summer if the fans/AC are left on a little too long, you'll be shivering all night.

Wouldn't recommend living here. If you can find anywhere else to live, do it. The apartments are tiny and not worth the high rent and the management is awful. So glad my wife and I are out, living here was not worth it and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I mean, all and all, it was an OK newlywed apartment. Our particular apartment just really struggled throughout our entire lease. Our fridge broke and took three days to replace (understandably, fridges are hard to replace), but we lost about $200 worth of food. And a few months later, our oven broke, and all but one of the burners stopped working. They told us it was old and said they would replace it. Little did I know that replacing the oven would take three whole months. I'm pretty sure we were forgotten about because, on multiple occasions, I saw other apartments get new ranges. It wasn't until I complained that we got one a few days later. My car was hit three separate times in the parking lot with no notes left (the parking lot is horrible), all occasions left pretty serious scrapes/dents. And you can hear every single footstep from your upstairs neighbors. To me, it just wasn’t worth staying another year. I couldn’t handle the mold, broken appliances, and horrendous parking any longer.

Cambridge is a very nice place to live. It's unfurnished and a bit expensive (but let's be honest, everywhere is these days) but it has been a wonderful apartment for the last year. Management is incredibly nice, maintenance responds to work orders in a timely manner, the community is always growing and changing, the garden plots and the lounge/gym are nice additions, and my wife and I are planning on living here for more years to come! Try and get in if you can! You won't regret it!
