Great environment and ammenities
Short line and how efficient everything was.
The food was great! Your maintenance is hard working. But you need more people.
We’ve happily lived here for over 7 years. The maintenance department is so very responsive if you have a request. They are clean & completely worthy of being trusted to do maintenance without you even being home. The office is also very helpful & responsive when there are concerns. Great place to live.
Lived here for two years and am still incredibly impressed with the way this building was managed. The building itself isn't new but improvements and repairs are made thoughtfully and with high quality fixtures and finishes without cutting corners to get the job done. I swear maintenance was patching any dings and scratches in the hallway once every month and was somehow still never in the way. The management is slowly changing policies "to be more in line with the market" which I think is a real shame (things like a parking spot used to be included in rent or the usual increasing rent by a fair bit). But by and large I felt that management was kind and fair about the way it handled business and was far more just-minded than most apartment complexes downtown.
Pro: The secured access will make you feel safe. Con: There is a major inconvenience if you live close to or share walls/floor with the 1st Ave apartment gym. This gym used to be a quite yoga room but now is transformed and designed to create extreme loud noise with a long schedule each day while is also designed to share a wall with my apartment. I have not been able to get enough sleep since I moved in, since this gym does get used almost every minute when is it open. 1. two TVs are provided inside for people to play workout music and some people like to turn the TVs to max volume while working out, then I will be force to listen to their music inside my apartment. 2. There are multiple extreme heavy weight lifting equipment inside this gym and there is no way to not make loud noise while doing weight lifting. Plus some people do like to drop them like a grenade, then my apartment will experience mini earthquakes. 3. Although this gym is designed to be loud and shares walls and ceiling with surrounding units it opens from 5am to 11pm. It has been waking me up each morning hours before my clock alarm and keeping awake each night when I was trying to sleep. 4. Utah has a state law about being quite to your neighbors between 10pm-7am. And you will not feel your are protected by this law if you live near the 1st ave gym 5. It's a safety hazard. People like to lean on the shared wall (the wall shared by FA gym and my apartment) while doing weights. One time a guy made a giant hole on the shared wall while doing weights. At the time of this incident my side of the wall vibrated severely and the mirrors I hang on my side of the wall almost fall on me and injured me. After I reported this safely hazard, the maintenance team just went and patched the wall and pretended nothing happened. So be aware that if you want to move in here and the chosen apartment is close to the gym, then you need to have extremely high noise+vibration tolerance level. Because otherwise, your home will drive you crazy.
My car was booted one day after it was parked in an adjacent unoccupied parking. I had just purchased a new car and didn't get a chance to talk to the front office. The front office argued that it was my own fault so I need to pay $100 before it is towed away. The thing that made my experience worst is that I was told that tenants have been repeatedly notified to not park in other people stalls due to parking situation yet in my 6 months at Brigham apartments, I have seen no "emails or elevator messages posted everywhere" indicating parking challenges. I have never seen the parking structure ever more than half full in my almost 6 months of living here. Let's call it as it is, Brigham Apartments is trying to find ways to generate extra revenue at the cost of truly caring for the tenants. A message posted on the car with a warning rather than a huge yellow sticker that I have been booted and management is not responsible for any damage to the car would have been a better way to handle the situation. I will not renew my lease or have anything positive to say about the new management.
I visited a friend that lives there and it seems like a very nice, neat and safe community! I'd love to have a tour and check out the options they have to rent! Perfectly located, great space, gym, pool, outdoor benches, mail boxes, well kept building inside and outside :-)
