Less than ideal experience — My husband and I joined friends for dinner at Basta Pasta in Eldersburg. The waiter interrupted our conversation to recite the specials, then told me the special came with two sides—I ordered asparagus and onion rings. Shortly after, staff cleaning a nearby table backed into ours, knocking over most of our drinks and soaking three of us. The manager offered the first round on the house. We moved tables, but our waiter only replaced one beer; we had to flag him down again for the half-spilled cocktail. Food took a long time. When the bill arrived, my sides were charged an extra $4 each. The waiter claimed they were “premium” upgrades and denied ever saying the meal included two sides—despite everyone at the table hearing it. He never mentioned any up-charges. We left wet, with an inflated bill, and feeling the situation could have been handled better. The lack of transparency on sides felt deceptive. We won’t be back.

Always enjoy our dining experiece at Basta Pasta! There are many menu items to choose from and everything we have ever ordered has been delicious! The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and helpful. The portions are more than generous and we always have something to take home. We highly recommend Bastat Pasta!
We enjoy yet another lovely yummy dinner. The bacon wrapped scallops were amazing on top of a pile of mashed potatoes.
We were among the first customers when the restaurant first opened. Back then, a number of issues existed. Now, this has become one of our favorite places to eat!
Outstanding Food, Exceptional Service, and an Amazing Experience for Our Party of 30 — We recently hosted a party of 30 at Rasta Pasta, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The staff accommodated our large group exceptionally well and made sure everyone was taken care of throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was even better. Our server, Haley, went above and beyond to ensure every guest had a great experience. She was attentive, professional, friendly, and handled our large party with incredible care and patience. It’s rare to find this level of service anymore, which is why I felt it was important to recognize Haley and the entire team for the amazing job they did. Thank you all so much for making our event so enjoyable. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend Rasta Pasta to anyone looking for excellent food and exceptional service. You will not be disappointed!
High top in the bar. Table for 2. Much more quiet than the dining room…thank heavens! Menu said Cast Iron seared scallops: they were not. They were not seared, not served in cast iron. Disappointed. Bourbon cocktail was wonderful, unique combination. Salad and bread were fresh and delicious. Veal meatballs were exceptional and huge. We took leftovers home! Many generational families dining, perhaps for Mother’s Day weekend, but it was wonderful to see.
We had a reservation for a table. When we got there staff had a hard time finding us a table. Management got involved and made us feel very unwelcome. After 10 minutes they gave us a table in the corner. That was fine but the way they treated us made us feel very unwelcome. We have been regular visitors for 8 years. Not sure we will return.
Salad and bread were the highlight of the meal. Short rib pasta was bland. Carbonara was too greasy, cheese heavy. Not authentic.
I only have a couple of comments I wish to make. The very food was good, as expected, our server was very attentive and certainly very polite. However, I have a complaint, the music was way too loud. One of our guests complained to the waiter who did try to get the music lowered. The noise continued and our guests could not hear each other. We purposely chose 4 pm for our party in an attempt to "beat the crowd". Our party had 5 people at the table three of whom have a hearing deficit and 3 who have hearing aids. Hearing loss is a common handicap among seniors and we especially have issues when we go to restaurants. Basta Pasta needs to be aware that many people have hearing problems. Your dining tables are pushed together and everyone is sitting on top of each other. That is a huge problem because we hear what people at the tables next to us are saying but we can't hear our own spouses or our guests.
Best food ever! Even fresh crispy salad and decadent dinner rolls were a special treat.
The food at Basta Pasta was outstanding. This was our first time visiting there and we will definitely be back. The Fig and Goat Cheese appetizer might be one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The rest of our food was outstanding. The staff and vibe there was wonderful. I can't wait to head back here another time.
Love the bar area/atmosphere! Food is delicious, servers are friendly, Crab Cakes and the best! but everything I've had here is pretty good!
The food, drinks and service were outstanding as always. Basta never disappoints. There was a large crowd and a table that was quite loud. Not loud enough to complain though. Prices are on par with a nice Italian restaurant, which is to say a lot more than they used to be, but that's not their fault. Bradon and Sarah were great servers and bartenders.
Shrimp risotto asiago was so yummy with an pineapple crush not sure why I had a lime as a garnish maybe a pineapple chunk is more suitable for the drink nevertheless it was very refreshing Service was great as usual
We went to Basta Pasta for their crab cake special and because we were getting ready to celebrate our 55th anniversary! Joanna and Roberto provided excellent service. I can't express enough how wonderful they were to us. They also wrapped up our leftovers in such a discreet way that we felt like well loved grandparents! I highly recommend Basta Pasta for a lovely lunch or dinner. It's worth the trip! Before I forget, the broiled crab cakes, roasted potatoes, salad and fresh bread were to die for!!! Thank for a lovely anniversary celebration!
Everyone in our party of 4 was very happy with our meals; “the veal saltimboca was really tender”, “Seafood Primavera Fra Diablo was chock full of seafood”, “the chicken Umbertina was chock full of asparagus, artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes, and chicken in flavorful garlicy EVOO”, “the chicken piccata was flavorful but the chicken was dry”. Servings are large. Three of us went home with leftovers and look forward to another great meal!
Always a delicious meal and drinks! Top notch service. Leftovers for days too!
We’ve always had great food and service at Basta pasta!
Love it here!! The bar staff are awesome - Sarah rocks it. Even toes the pizza for the first time and it was delicious.
