Avion Point

Have not been here a month and regretting it. Pros: 1. Apartment was decent in cleanliness. I requested them to clean again before we moved in and they did. 2. Apartment itself is VERY nice & new. 3. Cozy because the entire complex is only 4 buildings, one of which is a senior building. 4. Neighbors are polite & keep to themselves. 5. You can get a 3 bedroom 2 full bath for less than $2,000 a month. 6. I have a lovely view of the woods behind the complex. Cons: 1. It was very difficult to reach someone in management to ask about leasing. I called for 5 months. 2. Once approved I was given 1 week to pay over $3,000 in deposit, prorated rent, & administrative fee. If I didn't agree to sign the lease in 1 week, then the unit would go to someone else. 3. Since I've been here (less than a month remember), I've been locked INSIDE my apartment (maintenance just happened to walk by and had to take the lock off the dang door just so I could get OUT.) 4. I've complained in writing (with nothing done) about loud music being played constantly at night past 11pm. 5. I've complained in writing about the frequent smell of marijuana in the breezeway around my door. (To each his/her own but geez I don't want my kids catching a contact) 6. I've complained in writing about the fact we can't even use our back patio. Neighbors above us frequently keep their dog on their patio. When it pees, the urine literally comes down through the patio cracks. It constantly smells like dog pee and we've already had 2 outdoor chairs ruined by dog pee. 7. The walls are soooo thin. I constantly hear one of my neighbors telling their dog to shut the f up. (Different neighbor from the dog pee issue). My kids constantly hear the neighbors kids playing loud music in their bathroom. (Different neighbor than the ones playing music past 11pm) 8. We register our cars with the leasing office. However, if we ever forget to hang the property tag in our rearview mirror then our car will get towed that same night. Every single time. It costs $225 to get your car out. Management suggests you leave the tag in your rearview at all times but then you're riding around Charlotte with a brightly displayed "Avion Point" telling anyone where you live. The tow company says if you mark out Avion Point then they'll still tow your car. There's no option for a small sticker or something less conspicuous you can leave on your car at all times. 9. Property management aren't the nicest representatives I've ever dealt with. They aren't the worst but they definitely get attitudes if you disagree with anything they say.

I moved in almost 5 months nothing serious has happened (THANK GOD) some people leave their annoying dogs on their patios barking all night and some people play loud music while driving in the community. I’m only leaving 5 stars because my process for move in was a breeze my apartment was VERY CLEAN. Maintenance are fast. The only two things that annoy me are the dogs on patio loud music being played at night. We do have a few new people moving in so let’s see how this goes.

My overall experience have been great living here. In the beginning it was a struggle to get things done because they went under a new management change. Which cause leasing to be hell. But they worked with me (I was also consistent coming down to the office). Everyone was and still is nice. I’m surprised their reviews are low but they do need to work on answering the phone and the many reviews was from an lady who no longer works with them. I also didn’t know their senior living is separate from the low income and regular living. I thought it was the same too. I low-key want to delete this review because it’s honestly beautiful here.

The people in the community seems ok, not too much different from any other community. The only bad part is the noise coming from cars on the main Tyvola road. It’s EXTREMELY LOUD , so loud it will shake your home and unit. I don’t see how the senior citizens across the street are getting any sleep during the day. Noise Level: 20! Community Noise Level: 2.

Angelique the "Assistant Property Manager" is the first mild-mannered, even-tempered unprofessional person I ever met. She was never mean or rude in her tone and posture. However, her biases against my elderly aunt and I was clear from the moment I met her. I spent 2 days with her and she made us feel like we weren't worthy to live at Avion Point. She said and did everything she could to make it seem like my aunt and I were not eligible to live with what she acts like is her apartment complex. However, I'm glad she did because my aunt found an even better place, and although she will be paying $300 more than the proposed $1375 at Avion Point, she was treated with the highest dignity and respect by the Property Manager at her new place. Furthermore, I contacted the corporate headquarters at Gateway to report my experience with her, and no one had ever called me back. Perhaps she gets her cues and behavior from the top. In any event, thank you Angelique for your biases and unprofessionalism. It lead us in a better direction. Keep up the good work!
