Never had any issues and love the new building Well as of 3/8/22...I was seeing Dr Mimms for nearly 9 years I have been on hydrocodone 10...3x daily & morphine 30mg...2x daily .. And I was told by him personally that if I did not get the pain pump that he would taper me off of these meds and I had 3 months to decide. Because his referring surgeon NEVER contacted me back I decided that I wasn't comfortable with getting it done with not having a consult.... So on this next appointment I was refused services. Not even a discussion about tapering. Was told that he will not see me until I make the appointment. And I drive to his appointments every time am hour 1 way. He didn't even have the nerve to inform me he sent Ebony his assistant to tell me. Now I'm going to be facing withdrawals at the end of the month. As many of you know long term medication is very dangerous and could be life threatening if not taken off slowly. I use to have the worlds highest respect for this doctor but no more. Now they won't return my calls or emails. I'm thinking of reporting him to the medical board

I apologize for the length of this post but I believe it's worth the read. First things first. You have to take into consideration when any review was written. 2nd: Re:The posts from around 2017. All of the pain specialists in & around Indianapolis were being investigated due to the behaviors of a disreputable few. Those found to be breaking the law were shut down. The others had restrictions and stringent rules thrust upon them. That is why it is very difficult to become a new patient and the reason for the med counts, repeated urine tests, etc. The fact that Dr.Mimms survived the ordeal is a testament to not only his business practices but also his character. His staff was pretty bad when he started at his current location but he has gone to great lengths to correct that. His current staff is wonderful and work well together as well as with patients. Everyone there knows that their patients are in varying stages of pain and work hard to assist you. So, being belligerent neither helps them to assist you nor helps you get your point across. I have been a patient of Dr. Mimms for approx. 16 years. He is kind, caring, intelligent and the reason he runs late on his appointments is because he's NOT A DOORKNOB DOCTOR!!!! He gives each of his patients the time they need with him. So if he's running behind and you find yourself getting impatient keep in mind, the next time it might be you that needs a little extra attention. He has gone out of his way to help get and keep me vertical and functional all these years and I wouldn't trade him for anything. He has stuck with me through thick & thin. And believe me there has been a lot of thick (mostly due to the inadequacies of other doctors). He has never dismissed my concerns, shined me on, spoken to me as anything but an equal human being. He takes my health very seriously & I go to my appointments with as much knowledge and information as I can to make his job as doctor & my job as patient come together to get the best overall quality of care. He once told me to stop watching news programs of any kind until my next appointment & see if my stress level goes down and brings my pain level down with it. As much as I adored Bill O'riley, I tried it. It worked so well that I kept it going. I believe in him & trust him totally. So if you are serious about your health he's the best doctor you could ever have. But if you just want drugs or you want meds to do it all without you putting any effort into it, then look somewhere else. And for those of you thinking I "drank the koolaid", nope, he's just that good!

My wife has been seen by Dr. Mimms for over 3 years now and when I've been in the appointments with her, he always seems very caring and listens to what issues are going on with my wife. He makes recommendations for changes to her medicine if he feels it can help and sometimes it has. I don't know what has happened with these other reviewers and I hope that their families are doing better now, but we've never had any issues with Dr. Mimms' care or professionalism ourselves. The only issues that we've ever had in the past have been with the staff as others have said. Lately, it seems to be better. We actually have got through on the phone the last couple times that we've called in and they do seem to respond fairly well with emails.

Just like the other several reviews stated, I was dropped unfairly by Dr Mimms. I used to work at Community North and I knew him before I was a patient. He was so kind, I became his patient there, then he left suddenly. I had to see other pain Drs until my pcp called me to tell me he'd started practicing out here. I've been on full disability for 5 years now. I have back and hip issues as well as chronic pancreatitis, sphincter of oddi disease, and a pancreas that is slowly turning nercrotic (dying) I started seeing him again, he was so great. The front office staff is horrible, the phone never is answered, calls aren't returned. Your best bet is to email them. So January 4th I got a voicemail at 11:30am to come in for a random pill count by 3pm or be dismissed. I called back almost immediately. Of course, no answer, I told them I had started the prep for my colonoscopy the next day, I couldn't drive an hour there (if you've ever had to do prep for a colonoscopy you know what I mean) the girl said, you've got until 3 regardless. I was crying. I'd seen this man for years. They refused to let me talk to him. I called my gastrointestinal Dr and he faxed a letter stating I was doing prep and having the procedure the next day. No one was answering my calls or emails on Thursday or Friday. The following week I got a letter in the mail, printed on ordinary paper and signed by some girl I never heard of. **see picture** They gave me a 30 day medication refill and basically said see ya. I've emailed requesting to speak with Dr Mimms, they never let me. I'm trying to find another Dr. I have went to 2 others so far. First one was horrid, second is at least kind but tell me they won't even prescribe dilaudid, regardless of the fact I've been on that for 2 years and I've tried all kinds of other thing over the past years and even had so many surgeries I can't even count on both hands. They say that they can only give equivalent of 90mg of morphine. So I'm basically going to have withdrawal very soon. They gave me numbers for clinics. The first Dr did tell me that she's seen several of Mimms patients and that he's been doing some shady things. Dr Mimms talked about Christ with me, he prayed with me, I purchased 2 of his gospel CD's from him. He claims to be a Christian man but anyone who would leave patients like this isn't. I've been in bed for almost 2 weeks. I'm back like I was years ago, unable to move around much, stuck on heating pads and in hot baths, passing out bc the pain is too much. Stuck at the mercy of ER doctors. HE TOOK A OATH. Dr Mimms if you're reading this, you've failed me. When my ex comes in for his appt with you, I'll be there. He was with me during all my illness and tests, he's seen what I've gone thru and how with meds I had at least a better quality of life, now I'm back to square one. So, even though you hide behind your staff and make them do your dirty work-you'll face me. I'll be with him when you walk into his room and shake his hand and act all nice.
