We are local and have seen various iterations of this pub. We heard good things about the new management so we came to see. We are super impressed with the food. I ordered chicken supreme because there was something on the menu that enticed me ( caramelised hazelnut..??). It’s a dish I don’t remember ever ordering in a restaurant. Anyway, from the first mouthful it was excellent. My husband’s fish likewise. Well done team. The only slight let down was that there weren’t enough staff on so we had to wait a bit more than ideal. Others well done! Keep

Lovely dinner at The Great Western. Menu is focussed on pub classics but very tasty - well executed and presented. The lady serving us was also fantastic and provided really great service - friendly and warm and super efficient but not intrusive. The pub is really nicely decorated too. Overall a great evening, highly recommend.

Unbelievable experience at The Great Western - we had our ‘night before the wedding’ meal with our nearest and dearest & it was honestly so special. We visited a month or so before to scope it out & Mia was super helpful in taking us through the dietaries on the menu & even gave us some complimentary bubbles before dinner! She then helped us with pre-orders & promptly answered any questions we had ahead of time. We got to the pub and it was beautifully laid out with flowers, a card and a plate with ‘congratulations’ written on it. It was such a nice touch & we were well looked after. The food was beautiful, everyone’s dietary requirements were taken care of and my brother’s starter (which I had accidentally missed off the pre-orders!) was taken care of without an issue. It was the best way to start such a special weekend and I cannot thank all of the staff, and especially Mia, for their hospitality and professionalism.

First visit and I'll definitely be back. One of th best Sunday lunches I've had in years. Everything was excellent the quality of the food, wine, service first class. Would highly recommend.

Lovely food, drinks and service! I highly recommend the hot chocolate! The inside decor is truly wonderful too, with a toy train going around a track around the ceiling! I've been here countless times and its always been wonderful. Plenty of room to sit and socialise. Keep up the great work guys! And happy 1 year anniversary!
